Haven't seen any flyers yet, but I was at Toys R Us today and they were starting to put out the shelf signage for Friday's sale. Looks like we will see Star Wars (appears to be only pre-2013 sets), as well as Super Heroes, Lego City, Teenage Ninja Turtles, and I think maybe Technic. Just a heads up as I'm sure we will see a flyer Thursday. After the Chapter's/Indigo sales it doesn't seem very exciting but they do have selection. I imagine it will probably be 20% off across the board ??

I'm going to remind everyone again:
Remember, buy now, price match later. ;) That's the golden rule with TRU and sale on exclusives.

Did you do that with the current sale? I'm still waiting for them to credit me back some cash for HH and I called them Friday right in the morning.

Does the online customer service group apply the credit or can it be done in store? Also is it likely that the Pet Shop will be excluded?

Nah, I've spent way too much this month. Can't afford to buy anymore. :-/

If anyone buys early and has them price match make sure you get a confirmation number. I just spent 45min on the phone screwing around to get the approval put through again.

Seriously. I just bought from Chapters like 3 times, and then I got 2 of the huge exclusive sets recently. Wow.
Just to make sure...the Pet Shop still has at least like a year after this one right? Like I mean they still haven't got rid of the Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium, so I guess I got some time for that one? Because I would prefer to hold off on my Lego purchase for just a bit at least for now...

Would you mind explaining the process? Do you place an online order today, and then tomorrow go into a shop with the flyer and they do it there? Or do you have to receive the product and then go into the store with the packing slip? Or do you call a hotline phone number or something?
I still need to get a Town Hall, and I've never tried this trick before, that's why I ask.

Most likely it will be around for a while as most expect FB and GE to go first BUT Lego seems to discontinue sets with no rhyme or reason so you never know. I picked up the previous 2 and I wouldn't be surprised if only FB goes this year. Really it's anybody's guess though.

It's really easy, first you buy the item now. Then with your confirmation email call them back tomorrow and let them know the item you bought is on sale. Give them your confirmation number and they'll process the request and give you a confirmation number for the request. You end up initially paying the full cost for the item and then they'll credit you the difference after 5ish days.

I didn't get a chance to order the Town Hall last night like you suggested. But today I notice they have it in stock but with this bit added to the product page:
This is a LEGO Hard to Find item with limited availability and is excluded from all LEGO Promotions - (See all LEGO Hard to Find items)
So I wonder if the method described would even work to get that 20% off. I imagine calling up and they would say "sorry, that item is excluded". Has anyone tried this time around?

Wow pet shop sold out quick this morning. I checked at 6:20 MST on my compute and they were all gone. 30 seconds later I open the page on my phone and was able to buy it. I did get a backorder email but I'm just glad the order went through.

You must have been at .com as .ca has it listed on sale, but they're out of stock now anyways.

Yes, the American site. Good thing I didn't order it then. :) I've got a 10% off coupon to the Lego store, which I'll probably buy a modular with before it expires. Gotta work toward that valentines day 2014 reward, right?

Woot! Just picked up a pet shop set on sale at tru. Last one. Had a lot of trouble deciding. The guy next to me bought the Shop set for himself...now im thinking which one will be retired soon. I missed out on the green grocer and i could kick myself!

Yes, and that is exactly why I am not going to collect the modulars unless I decides to bricklink the parts for the first 3 modular sets to build.
