Lego Dacta 9053 Duplo 1992

Post by sppspp » Sat Jun 01, 2013 10:57 am

Does anyone know anything about this set? I have one sealed and want to know more about it and its rarity. Was it a very limited release? I have not been able to find a photo of the box (only instructions) online. Has anyone even seen photos and/or should I upload and share them with anyone specific in order to help the online lego communities/websites?

Thanks much for your time in advance as any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this the set? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=9053-1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its not listed on brickset.com. I'm sure they would be very happy if you took pictures of the box and submitted them. Same with peeron.com.

There is no price history on Bricklink for this, so yes its fairly rare. However, the "part out" value (the cost of buying the parts separately, w/o the box) is between $25 and $30 dollars, I estimate---assuming all of the parts could be found. So that would be a baseline for its current value. A sealed box in good condition would be worth a bit more.

If you plan to sell it to a collector, you might consider posting on the Bricklink forum, to see if anyone is interested in it. One person has it on their 'wanted' list. Another option is to open a bricklink store (this is free and easy to do), and list it for what you think is a fair price, with a note of 'price negotiable'.
