TRU LEGO Building Event February 8, 2014

My local TRU ran out of sets around 12:45 but gave out mini figs from The Lego Movie to the kids in line who didn't get to build Emmet's car/plane. Thank goodness for the substitution since we had just left the LEGO store at the mall and found out they've run out of the movie accessory promo pack. Double whammy! But, at least my girls walked away with Wildstyle and Panda Guy minifigs! Wish The LEGO Group would've anticipated such a high turnout for these events...

That was good of your store to do. There were a lot of sad little kinds wandering around at our store.

They know exactly what they are doing. If you flood the market with product it makes it not as desirable. And in their mind ,if you go to the event you may also buy some of their product. Even at TRU's bloated prices.

Went to this event with my 2 kids. Ours started at 12:00 and was very busy. The kids really enjoyed the car build. My son put Emmet in the car and my daughter rebuilt the car into the flying version so that her Wild West Wyldstyle figure would fit. Fun event.

TRU is advertising a replay of the Emmet's Car build for next month, Sat Apr 12, 12-2pm.

It's a great little build. But last time, some folks complained that TRU ran out of supplies too fast. Hopefully, that wont happen this time.
