if you are buying the Princess sets...go to Target.com you can get a free market set + use red card.

I'm very tempted to purchase An Unexpected Gathering as I like the set and a lot of the accessories with it. But I don't have any real interest in the minifigures - is there much resellability (we'll pretend thats a word) for those minifigures? Doesn't look like any exclusives from my minimal research.
ETA: I looked it up and saw it does have exclusive minifigures. Think I will snag one while it's discounted.

That is a fantastic set. Anyone who is interested in the LotR/Hobbit sets but wants to be picky and only get 1 or a couple should get that one. It is an iconic location and a fantastic design...especially considering it is a medium priced set.unduli wrote:I'm very tempted to purchase An Unexpected Gathering as I like the set and a lot of the accessories with it. Don't wait, it won't be available much longer.

Thank you a lot! I cancelled my order at amazon.com and placed orders at target.com instead. Actually there are three sets 24% off. I should receive three market sets. I wish the princess castle can be at least 20% off, too.Mgoblue94 wrote:if you are buying the Princess sets...go to Target.com you can get a free market set + use red card.

If you happen to have a Fry's near you, the Memorial Day sale starting Friday will have 41055 Cinderella's Romantic Castle at 20% off (as well as 41053 Cinderella's Dream Carriage and 41051 Merida's Highland Games, if Target isn't an option for whatever reason).

Re: LEGO Deals at Amazon USA (40% off Galaxy Squad Crater Cr
I purchased one at discounted price at Christmas and sold the minifigures. I think I sold 3 of the 4 dwarves for 9.99 each pretty quickly. I kept one because I liked the torso and beard. Gandalf and Bilbo not so quickly but both of those sold for 4.99 each. I really wanted the build and pieces and not the minifigures. Now looking back I wish that I had kept a few more of them. They have some pretty interesting torsos and beards, hats and hairpieces. I'm not a big collector or "flesh" color LEGO minifigures. I prefer the traditional yellow ones. I do of course collect some licensed characters even though they are "flesh" color. I forget the discounted price that i paid for it but I sold 5 of the 6 minifigures for a combined total of $40 so I invested very little money into the pieces and one minifigure (of course there are ebay feesunduli wrote:I'm very tempted to purchase An Unexpected Gathering as I like the set and a lot of the accessories with it. I believe all but Gandalf are exclusives (Bilbo is a variant that is only available in this set... I think).
At the moment the only sets that i have on display (not mocs and tablescraps) are the Monster Fighter Hearse, Hobbit: Unexpected Gathering, and LEGO movie Icecream truck. Its a great reproduction of a very iconic scene/structure (as someone else pointed out). If I ever see them drop below $35 I'll quickly snatch another. I can always use more light tan and green pieces.
I really like the pieces that come with the set. Lots of fun or useful parts (my opinion of course). Link to brickset... http://brickset.com/sets/79003-1
