Re: Steal of a Deal (the thread for braggin')
Would like to clarify my last statement.
There were two Hyperspeed Pursuits and after my purchase there still remains one in store. Great deal since everywhere else this set sells for $67.

The current sale + the 20% off, so the CTTs were $73ish. Even with tax and shipping it's well worth it.

Toys R Us online.
And I meant the above post to mean that the tax and shipping were extra, so while it comes out to $80 something per, I still think it's pretty good.

Re: What lego did I buy today thread

10214 from my Grandma, at a total of $239.41 USD after 10% discount because the box was slightly creased (see the bottom).
I got $25 worth of VIP points from this set.
My mom also bought me the Winter Bakery set, and it should arrive tomorrow.
I also bought myself an 8404 LEGO City Public Transport Station for the Toys R US Bricktober sale with 20% off coupon. Normal price $99.99, sale price 71.99. 82.50 with shipping and processing.
Re: What lego did I buy today thread
I had to pull the trigger on 30% off Space Police Central (in-store) after I received a $10 off $50 'rewards R Us' coupon. SWEET!
Unfortunately, they were already out of the first week minifigure magnet. BOO! (Really, it's a blessing in disguise, because I now don't have to 'get them all').

Interesting how fast they sold out. My store lets you choose the figures you want and they still have week 1 imperial soldier left. :)vynsane wrote: Unfortunately, they were already out of the first week minifigure magnet. BOO! Re: What lego did I buy today thread
They probably were allocated less this time around since they had the chrome stormtrooper at that location for a LOOOONG time. Either that or they didn't really know what I was talking about and fed me a line of BS... I mean, the chick went over and grabbed a CMFs2 bag at first
Re: Steal of a Deal (the thread for braggin')
Not sure if this counts but I just picked up Agents - Wheeling Pursuit (8969) for $23.73 with PpP = 0.07 from Zellers (CAN).

Grand Emporium
Grand Emporium arrived in the mail today (via 20% off at TRU) Since I am in the middle of another huge LEGO project, my wife looked at the box and said "More LegoS?"
My response: "Yes, more Legos."

I believe we have all heard that question/comment at leat once since we've exited our dark ages. :)BrickUpdate wrote:Grand Emporium arrived in the mail today (via 20% off at TRU) Since I am in the middle of another huge LEGO project, my wife looked at the box and said "More LegoS?"

Re: Grand Emporium
I am lucky that my boy loves to build LEGO, so I have a good excuse to defense. However, once a while she will complain that "You got too much for him!!". In fact, she is the one who keeps an eye on the fryers for the best LEGO deal.Mantisking wrote:I believe we have all heard that question/comment at leat once since we've exited our dark ages. :)BrickUpdate wrote:Grand Emporium arrived in the mail today (via 20% off at TRU) Since I am in the middle of another huge LEGO project, my wife looked at the box and said "More LegoS?"

I think we could open a new topic to talk about this kind of issue. :D

Re: What lego did I buy today thread
I'm a relative newbie. 1st son is 15 and no longer interested in building LEGOs and last son is 4 and just getting into it from the Duplo stage. We hit the Lego store in Downtown Disney last weekend and got 12 Series 2 minifigures. We were going to save them for Christmas...the reality is we didn't make it 5 minutes down the road before we had all of them opened! I found some at Walmart today for the same $1.99 I paid at Lego. I bought 10, came home and let the kids open them and then went back and bought the last 6. Now I have lots of duplicates! So stalk me on the Trade thread
Regardless, we are all excited.

The Burrow!
Bought the Harry Potter Burrow set today at Borders with their 40% off coupon. Came to $48 including tax. So that's 25% savings once you take into account Borders price hike on the set ($75.)
Now, a nice Saturday night of building.

Re: What lego did I buy today thread
I picked up #3862 Harry Potter Hogwarts game last night using the 40% Borders coupon. Totaled out at $25.49 after sales tax.
Re: Steal of a Deal (the thread for braggin')
I hit up craigslist and got the 4504 Millenium Falcon 100% complete with minifigs and a Tie Interceptor with minifig and a bonus R2D2 and a couple of battle droids for 60 bucks. The Tie Interceptor isn't really anything special, but the falcon I'm pretty happy about.
Re: What lego did I buy today thread
I just picked up a clone wars themed lump at Kmart because of the excellent deals. Two Separatist Shuttles, one corporate alliance tank droid, and an Arc Starfighter for 47 bucks.

Re: What lego did I buy today thread
I picked up #3851 Atlantis Treasure today from TRU with a 20% off coupon. My total was $21.24 after tax which was then reduced to $11.24 after using my Geoffrey's Bucks from last week. Which is a price per piece of $0.04.
I also grabbed a Grab Bag from the Lego Store. It was full of the new Hero Factory parts along with a bunch of very useful technic parts and stickers! Whee!

Re: Steal of a Deal (the thread for braggin')
Did a little shopping at the Lego Store on Friday before my GF got home from her business trip. I picked up two Grab Bags plus a small Pick-A-Brick cup for a total of $25.20 w/tax. One of the Grab Bags had 100 pieces in it, the other 525, and I managed to squeeze 340 pieces into the PaB cup. That comes out to $0.08, $0.02, and $0.02 per piece respectively and $0.03 per piece overall. Plus I got a ton of fun and useful pieces.

Re: Steal of a Deal (the thread for braggin')
I took full advantage of Toys 'R' Us's 25% off Kingdoms/Creator deal last week, plus the website glitch that forced Customer Service to give me 30% off instead. In the end, I felt like a king (whose treasury had been plundered)! All prices are in Canadian (I probably paid nearly as little as they do in the U.S....):
5892 Sonic Boom - $59.99
5893 Offroad Power - $84.00
6752 Fire Rescue - $59.99
6754 Family Home - $59.99
7946 King's Castle - $97.49
10193 Medieval Market Village - $80.32
10194 Emerald Night - $90.99 :D
10196 Grand Carousel - $244.99 :o
Even after shipping, I saved $371 (31%) off MSRP. Now I just need to find some time to build it all...
