I don't think about it much, and when a friend and I go checking around for deals we've had a few kids say it's cool that we're still into LEGO. Only time I felt out of place was when I was shopping at ToysRUs with Battle of Endor and another larger set in hand and from the isle over heard a kid throwing a fit because his mom wouldn't let him get a set over $10.

you can feel less awkward in that situation by picking up 2 100+$ sets and ask the kid for his opinion and then buy the one the kid suggested as well. :twisted:

You should have approached the child and calmly explained to him that when he grows up, if he really truly loves LEGO, then he can work and with his own money buy as much LEGO as he wants. That's the true test of pretty much any good product.

Failing that you should have just told the mother that a swift spanking will do the boy good.
