Though not really today's purchase (more like yesterday's), I (finally) found and bought the ninja glider polybag from Target :D
Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Alright, I think I have the greatest Steal of a Deal ever. I will put pics when I get home so be patient. My family went and visited my inlaws back in southeastern Ohio. My son and I decided we would go garage saling. The first garage sale we hit had a clear garbage bag full of legos for 10.00. We quickly grabbed it. Later after sorting it had the lego harry potter quiditch (new one) Hogwarts game, police helicopter, some star wars battle packs and a lot of misc bricks and guys. We were in such a good mood. I told him that we should quit now b/c it wouldn't get any better. He insisted we keep going b/c he had his lucky hat on (he's 6). We hit a few more w/ no luck and were on our way back to the inlaws when we saw another sale. We walk up and I see a rubbermaid bin, 30 gallon, sitting there filled w/ legos. The bin was filled to the top. The top had a lot of unopened set bags. I didn't even bother looking through what was there. I saw the woman who's garage sale it was and asked how much. I was prepared to pay 100.00 plus. She looks at me, then the bin, and says,........"For the bin and legos.......5.00". My mouth almost dropped. I looked in my wallet and gave her a 10.00 and told her not to worry about it. My son could hardly contain himself. The whole way back to the car he was whooping it up how lucky his hat was that day. So here is what was in the bin all complete by the way and some of it was still built; Lego city farm and lego city tractor, police station 7744, 2 spongebob sets, the fire hovercraft, the fire truck w/ boat, some more star wars battle packs, the old naboo star fighter, one of the police battle pack like sets, the winter toy shop, and finally the best of all.....a complete lego town plan 10184. I have never hit a deal like this. It was an amazing day.

Wow, i'm shocked. Town plan for 10 bucks? Dude that's the greatest find I've ever heard of. But at the same time I feel kinda bad, because people don't know how much LEGO sells for now, especially the Town Plan. Anyways, Great job! :D

Speaking of the Town Plan, does anyone know where I can get one for cheap? LOL Maybe a little over MSRP.

both of you must be ecstatic!
Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
I've been complemented on my scores at yard sales, yet never, ever have found lego that wasn't as good a deal as a decent sale.legohunter wrote:Wooo.....incredible..... :o I never had any luck at garage sale. Good for you and your son. Nice lego hunt.
Re: Steal of a Deal / Recent LEGO Purchases
Oh man. I almost feel sorry for the lady who let a giant bin go for five bucks. She didn't know what she was doing. I just hope she didn't make her young grandchild/niece/etc cry from the loss.
My old stash of Lego from my childhood is more or less lost. It wasn't found in the last rummage run through my mom's storage space, and she thinks she might have even given it away. (I hope not. Give away the ninja turtle action figures or some other toy I could care less about, just not my Lego!) One day...

What are your thoughts on this Death Star deal?

I was burnt once before on ebay with a "great deal" but got my money back from paypal. Might give this one a shot....

Item location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Anytime I see anything being sold FROM Hong Kong, I generally consider it a fake, hence why they sell it to you for so cheap. The time or two I've actually paid for something, it hasn't been the real product, but some knockoff.

I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

He has 100% feedback, though, the deal seems too good to be true... unless of course he owns a toy business and they're having a clearance or something.
