Yep. The unfortunate part is that there is no "common practice" when it comes to Walmart clearance. There are 10 stores near me and each one handles clearance a little differently.

I know which one gets all the unsold run off, and does the largest markdowns. Unfortunately, it is impossible t tell when they do a "container clearance" where they sell off really old stuff they've been sitting on in the back. The last one I saw involved them sticking all this stuff on 6 carts near the front of the store, with most stuff 75% off or more. The carts were gone in two days, so they could have a container sale and unless you checked regularly, you'd never knew it even happened.

This is how I scored a MSIB Helm's Deep for $25.00, and some Fangpyre Trucks for $15.00.

I was at a Walmart and they had the same two sets sets on clearance for the same price as they were back in March. The big Heroica set and the NinjaGo game for $20 and $21 each, nothing new was added. It vaies greatly store to store.

The last few days I bought a bunch of things. The blue two legged SW AT-TE for $13.91, and the Lone Gunman stagecoach for $21.50 and the smallest TMNT set for right around $8.

Found a glossy, mint, sealed perfect box of Harry Potter 4738 Hagrid's Hut sitting at a local Barnes and Noble for the standard $40.00 retail.

A while back I found 8058 Guardian of the Deep for $14.95 in my local B&N. I then promptly used the 15% off coupon I had in my hand to purchase it.

I picked up 3920 The Hobbit game for $22.39 (before tax) after a $1.99 markdown and a "20% off Clearance" coupon along with a free 30240 Z-95 Headhunter polybag.

I received a $50 gift card from work for recognition of a particularly tough assignment, so I finally pulled the trigger on Galaxy Squad 70705 Bug Obliterator at Amazon. It was $58.27 at the time, so I ended up paying a mere $13 for it, when taking the gift card into account! It's an incredible set, highly recommended, btw.

At a local Meijer's I bought...
2x Hobbit 79001 Escape from Mirkwood Spiders at a local Meijer's today for $22 and some change (each).

1x Arctic Batman vs. Mr. Freeze Aquaman on Ice #76000 for $15 and some change.

Based upon the price labels it looks as though they are selling those two out of this particular store to make way for something different. Guessing its the August wave of Star Wars. Also keep in mind it may be just this particular Meijer's location and not the entire chain

My mom found an almost complete Gunship only 7676. No minifigures or speeder bike, but it was only missing a few small pieces I replaced and it's in need of a cockpit. But a great deal for the low low low of $1 she bought it for at a tag sale.

Thats amazing! I would love to have a gunship. Have you seen the Genndy Tartakovsky Clone Wars cartoon network episodes (2d animation much like Samurai Jack?). I loved every minute of it and I especially loved the clone troopers and ARC troopers and their gunships (like this one http://www.dvdactive.com/images/reviews ... newar1.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

Would love to find a gunship at a reasonable price. I like the new gunship being released in August (75021) but I really liked the stickers for the nose of the gunship in 7676 and the drop ship in 10195. I haven't seen any pictures of the 75021 with stickers on the nose of the ship.

Mine was oddly missing the stickers on the front sides with the money looking thing. Not sure why, other stickers were applied. I think if it did have them then they would peel off, it was very dusty. I have to email LEGO about a deformed brick I had I need a replacement for (it was from a Cars set so it's a one of a kind). In it I'm going to see if they have a cockpit they can send me too. I don't mind paying a few more dollars to finish the set.

I haven't seen the first Clone Wars cartoon, 2D one, but it looked fun. If I had more room I'd make a Clone Wars scene, I have a few random clones, and one of the walkers I got for half off years ago that I could stick back together.

Today I bought a couple monster fighter sets at Fred Meyer, they were to good of a deal to pass up even though it is not a theme I collect.

I bought 3 9464 (Vampyre Hearse) for $11.19 each
I also got 2 9463 (The werewolf) for $6.39 each

Puts them at almost 70% off. Good deal...now they will just sit around unopened taking up space :ugeek:

Geez. Those are incredible deals. Personally the Monster fighters are one of my favorite themes that has been produced in the past few years. I was excited to get the hearse and werewolf at 40% off. The vampire hearse is a great looking car. I have it on display now

Thanks guys, I'm not a reseller and it is pretty unusual I buy a set that I am not planning on building..but those were to good of a deal. They were marked down on clearance...and then everything on clearance was another 60% off the clearance price. I had to buy them all.

I have found some great deals at Fred Meyer of the last couple years..I would say they are my favorite place to purchase Lego.

Check out Fry's Electronics if there is one nearby; B&M not online, their shipping fee is asinine. They're discounting older sets, the website lists some of the discounted sets but store availability will definitely vary. Remember to check the top shelves and be prepared for a war-zone.

They're "Meh" deals but I picked up:
Pirates of the Caribbean: 4183 The Mill - $20
Alien Conquest: 7067 Jet-Copter Encounter - $20
Pharaoh's Quest: 7325 Cursed Cobra Statue -$13 (discount because of dented box)

Yup. At 70% off even shaving off the junk, still nice parts packs for white, black, and greys. All quite useful colors.

Did they have red stickers on them or any signs up about the discounted price?
