The Town Hall is listed $10 above Canadian MSRP at $260 (retails for $250). Sopwith Camel is also $5 above regular price at $135 (should be $130). The 3 older modular houses (Grand Emporium, Pet Shop, and Fire Brigade) though are all at regular price for $200 and Tower Bridge is also at regular retail of $300. When the sale comes around, keep in mind it is only those 4 that you are getting the true 20% off retail price. The others 2, not so much.
As tempting as it may be to finally have a chance to get the modular houses on sale, I think I'm going to pass this time around. I've spent way too much recently (holidays, plus other stuff), and also I've picked up a couple things on clearance/sale the last 2 weeks (wasn't a LOT, but still). Also, of the modulars TRU has, the one modular I need from them the Pet Shop is "only" 2 years old, won't be retired before the Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium anyways. I will wait until next sale. Good luck everyone in trying to get one set.

Fire Brigade was at $109 USD over at the US threads not too long ago. Toys R Us really should smarten up if they do not want to follow the path of Zellers, Bestbuy and Sears very soon.

I saw the freebie 30220 Fire Speedboat on sale at Metrotown TRU for $4.99.
Got to say I don't like the new 'life vest' that the minifig wears as it creates a noticable gap between the shoulder and botton of the head...

Saw this on RFD:
I just got off the phone with TRU and I was told that if you buy an item today (Fire Brigade and Tower Bridge in my case) and the item goes on sale you can call back within 7 days *Whether or not the item is in stock* and have your order cost adjusted. I confirmed 3 times that the item doesn't have to be in stock and the lady I spoke with reassured me that I'll get my price adjusted. I imagine some of these sets are going to be gone by 12:01am so this is a nice way to guarantee you get one.
I'd feel like a cheap guy if I do this myself, but it does guarantee you an exclusive at a discount. :)

I did this a couple times in the past just to make sure TRU didn't pull any shenanigans.
EDIT: Must...convince...self...stay strong and do not be tempted to buy the set and wait...

Bought 3 sets this morning for :
Pet Shop
Grand Emporium
Fire Brigade
I had put money on hold especially for the big modular sets and thought this sale was the right time and place for me to unleash it

Ordered a fire station, no problems. I would have bought the pet shop too, but my credit card couldn't handle it, with all the other LEGO I bought in the last 2 months. But, I figure the Pet Shop will be around longer then the Fire Brigade will, so its all good.

Ohhhh no. Why do they have to do this so soon after I've spent so much lately!? Ive been wanting the Sopwith and Tower Bridge for so long.. was actually going to cash in all my VIP points to get the Bridge next month. This is a great deal, since these large creator sets are basically never carried in store anywhere except at TLS. My wife... is gonna kill me...

Ordered the Fire Brigade and Grand Emporium this morning, these will be my first modulars. I'm really looking forward to the Grand Emporium, just love the design of that set.

How do you guys get the Amazon.com ones to work? Do they ship Lego to Canada now or something?

some of their lego sets have shipped to Canada in the past, but it's also possible they're having them shipped to a mailbox just across the border.

TRU did reimburse me for the price of Tower Bridge and fire Brigade that I ordered last night. I'm glad Pet Shop and Emporium are sold out, I can't explain that much Lego to my wife.

Do you have any kids? or are all these Lego just for yourself?
