I interpreted this as 10x10 studs, given that studs is the standard unit of measure in Lego. As to fitting 300 pieces on a 10x10 stud plate, it all depends on the pieces! I've got a vignette in mind but I'm yet to start building, mainly because I need to rip a bunch of pieces off my son's built sets...
