30205 Pop Star Red Carpet at Target
I knew it. Target got the Friends Pop Star Red Carpet (30205) polybag in its Christmas selection. It's in the "stocking stuffers" section of the store. This was previously only available at Lego Stores if you spent $35 or something on Friends items.
If Target has a second polybag in the Christmas section, I haven't spotted it. My local Targets still have the Space buggy and the Race Car at the registers, and the Joker in the toy section. A few of my Targets still have the TIE Fighter from years ago.

30286 (Creator Christmas Tree) is also showing up at Target, but it's not in the Christmas section--it's on the endcaps the way Joker's Bumpercar was.

For the thrifty: there tend to be PLENTY of these at Target, and all the Christmas stuff goes to 30 or 50% off starting December 25. So if you want to risk the wait, you can probably get these for $1.99 or cheaper. Obviously you're taking a chance, but in my experience, Target has never been short of these by clearance time.

I have only seen one bag ever after any holiday. I'm not sure where you live but everywhere I have gone these sell out weeks before Christmas.ResIpsaLoquitur wrote:For the thrifty: there tend to be PLENTY of these at Target, and all the Christmas stuff goes to 30 or 50% off starting December 25. I have seen both sell outs and tons of clearance bags, think it depends on the bags popularity, how much stock the store gets and when and where they put them. I figure it's always better to be safe and grab one or two especially since it's only a few dollars difference per bag.
Re: 30205 Pop Star Red Carpet at Target
I have to agree that the "tons of these after the holidays" approach isn't indicative of most stores either, based on my personal experience: it very much depends on where you live. Around here, the bags tend to completely disappear within the first week or two of being on the shelf. We don't usually even get to the clearance stage.

That's fair--I suppose it could be a "where you live" kind of thing. I'm in the DC area, and there's probably 7 or 8 Targets within driving distance of me and more if I decided to go outside my normal travel routes. At least in my area, I've never had a problem finding holiday polys on clearance.Brick & Blue wrote:I have only seen one bag ever after any holiday. But like I said, "if you want to risk the wait." YMMV.

Oh, sheesh--your avatar says you're in Delaware. Take a day after Christmas and drive over to the DC area--like I said, the Targets around here seem to have plenty of stock in post-holiday clearance.Morgan19 wrote:I have to agree that the "tons of these after the holidays" approach isn't indicative of most stores either, based on my personal experience: it very much depends on where you live. I think sometimes part of the issue is that in order to get them on clearance you have to get there before " that guy" who shows up the day of the sale when the store opens and scoops them all into their cart.
I'll never be that guy. As a general rule I always try to leave a couple on the shelf if I'm buying more than what I plan on building (even if it's a fantastic price).

Targets by me also have a Ninjago polybag set out with the stocking stuffer items. This too would be clearanced after christmas.
Re: 30205 Pop Star Red Carpet at Target
I noticed the glowy Ninjago dragon too, along with (oddly enough) a ton of series 13 and 14/Halloween collectible figures. Also in the stuffed-stockings section.
