Reason: Added set names and changed set number for the Fire Truck, as Kmart has it mislabeled as a different set.

Re: [USA] Kmart.com sales
They also have 7737 (coast guard truck w/ jet scooter) on sale for $8 but I do have to warn people that I don't think K-mart really has it in stock. I ordered this item once, was told what store to pick it up at (not realizing they didn't ship it to that store but rather it was "in-stock" there) and my receipt indicated that I was given the fire pick-up truck (7942) with trailer. They actual item I was given was the classic car. It appears that K-mart internally has something messed up between these 3 items as I was very skeptical that they had this set to begin with since it is older. I called customer service and they couldn't tell me if they really had the item in-stock or not. They were supposed to call me back with an answer and they never did. When I called again they said that the item was removed from their internal customer service system at one point due to my original call but it appeared it was available for order again (I don't think they ever removed the item from their website). I placed another order and had them ship to a closer store as I refused to pay freight (since I drove an hour the previous time to get the wrong item). When I picked up my order I was given the wrong item again (classic car) and found out they shipped the item from another store rather than a warehouse. I emailed customer service to see if someone could actually tell me if they had the item and never got a response.

Re: [USA] Kmart.com sales
I've had a similar experience. Last spring, I ordered a 8119 Thunder Racer but they sent the 8121 Track Marshall instead. This was just after the 8121 had just been clearanced at S@H. It was clear from the shipping package that kmart.com fulfilled my order to sending a request to a brick-and-mortar store, and the person that filled it just grabbed the first (or most plentiful) lego car they could find. :-(jeffbock2 wrote:They also have 7737 (coast guard truck w/ jet scooter) on sale for $8 but I do have to warn people that I don't think K-mart really has it in stock. ....
Re: [USA] Kmart.com sales
I was just so annoyed that someone couldn't place a call/send an email to somone to find out if they really had the item or if they just screwed up the data on the 3 sku's (that and the fact that they never responded to my email). I mentioned that I purchased the set to my 4 year old son and he kept asking me when it was going to show up and I had to keep telling him the lady hasn't called me back yet to tell me if they have it or not. He kept telling me to call them back and tell them to send it to us. I tried to order the set again from a toy store out in Washington (along with the City garbage truck) as they posted it on their website but had the order cancelled once they checked their inventory and realized they didn't have it in stock anymore. I refuse to pay Ebay prices for it.SH1 wrote:I've had a similar experience. Last spring, I ordered a 8119 Thunder Racer but they sent the 8121 Track Marshall instead. I got it to work with the 2 $37 toy story sets, did you register a new account?jeffbock2 wrote:luckyleroy wrote:You can use mygofer with coupon code goferit for another 20% off if you're picking it up in store.

Re: [USA] Kmart.com sales
I thought I did. I tried to buy the City Corner set but it was not available on the mygofer site. I tried to see if it worked on some other items that were discounted or on sale and it didn't work.luckyleroy wrote:I got it to work with the 2 $37 toy story sets, did you register a new account?jeffbock2 wrote:luckyleroy wrote:You can use mygofer with coupon code goferit for another 20% off if you're picking it up in store.

Are you somehow trying to imply that ncbarrett is purposefully witholding information in his initial post because some Spongebob sets were also on sale that he didn't mention, while simultaneously acknowledging that YOU found the sets on Nov 1 but didn't post about it until Nov 3? That seems a mite disingenuous.natelite wrote:i saw a few spongebob sets on the kmart.com site for like $4.99. not sure if anyone got it on nov 1 when they updated the price. if so... wow... thanks for the love, bro.way to share deals.

Re: [USA] Kmart.com sales
i saw it only on nov 3 when it was all sold out. geeezzzz :x there were more than just barrett who visited kmart.com and presumably saw the sale prices but kept quiet.vynsane wrote:

Re: [USA] Kmart.com sales
How do you even know the price changed on Nov 1, then? Or that there were even any left by that date? There are a wealth of vague accusations being thrown around based on nothing more than conjecture at best. I think you need to step away from the keyboard, take a few slow, deep breaths and chill out. It's highly likely that you're right and someone noticed the price reduction (if it actually happened on Nov 1) and didn't bother to share the information - but the likelihood of that same person being a member here or even knowing about this site and then, on top of that, purposefully witholding the information for their own personal gain and/or to spite you are relatively slim.natelite wrote:i saw it only on nov 3 when it was all sold out. geeezzzz :x there were more than just barrett who visited kmart.com and presumably saw the sale prices but kept quiet.
Either that, or I should just start blaming invisible people for not alerting me to the reduction to $4.99 for Darth Vader's Tie Fighter.
Re: [USA] Kmart.com sales
last time i checked was on oct 31. still at msrp. the next time i check was nov 3 and prices were at $4.99. yes, including your tie fighter. since the prices were updated for nov 1 sale, and most items were discounted $4.99. it is quite easy to make the link that someone working at kmart.com screwed up the price and keyed in $4.99 instead of $4.99 off msrp.vynsane wrote:How do you even know the price changed on Nov 1, then? vague accusations?! right.... there are plenty of lurkers who only take and never give or share and that pisses me off. :x that's the last time you'll hear from me on this subject.
Re: [USA] Kmart.com sales
They are 'vague accusations' if the recipients are no more than an amorphous pack of lurkers. Be that as it may, taking a belligerent attitude won't do anything to persuade the lurkers to contribute and only suffices to annoy the contributors who take the time to help. There are a lot of people who post a lot of great deals (including you), and the vast majority of people here are grateful for it.natelite wrote:vague accusations?! right.... there are plenty of lurkers who only take and never give or share and that pisses me off. :x that's the last time you'll hear from me on this subject.
That said, I would encourage anyone who finds the TnB 'Sales & Deals' forum helpful to at least post a thank-you to the diligent deal-seekers here, or to add any other finds whenever possible. We have what seems to be one of the best sales/deals sections of any LEGO site out there, and it can only get better with the help of the entire community.
