Possibly they are in very low quantity or when you tried to check out and they got purchased by someone already.

My local Walmart has the same sets at these prices for months now yet nobody seems to be buying them.

^Probably because it's not much of a deal. TRU typically puts stuff on sale for 20% off if you wait long enough. People still remember when Clearance actually meant Clearance at Walmart. Not just $10 off a $100 set.

Target was awesome for clearance. I have a storage room full of unopened sets that I got for 50% off or more. The place never had any customers and the lego was always discounted.
