Wal Mart finds

Post by supercal » Tue Jun 21, 2016 6:27 pm

Was at the north end Barrie location on the weekend.

They had a number of City Demolition Starter set for $5 (reg $12.86). They were over on the side rack in the action figure section instead of in the Lego section. The other starter sets all still scan at normal price.

In the book department, they had the new Ninjago book and DC Super Heroes book for 40% of Canadian cover each. The DC book had a Cdn price of $22.99 (before discount).

Also check out Walmart.ca. Several new clearance items this week, some selling out quickly.

'Tis the season -- they get rid of 2015 models to make room for upcoming 2016 stuff.

The sale prices aren't fantastic, but we have to take what we can get...

40% off the cover price for books is normal at Walmart.

The demolition starter sets seem to be gone at the Barrie Walmart. I found 2, so I bought them both. However, they also have the Elves set the big castle set from wave one, normally 99.86 down to $80 (808 pieces so a decent price) and the Ariel's castle is also on rollback but its still way over 10 cents per piece (can't remember the price.)

Saw the DC minifig book at the Walmart at Warden & Eglinton in Toronto last week but every one of them had had the pirate Batman fig stolen from it. Found one at another location that with Batman intact.

Found a couple at Scarborough super centre but scanned at full rrp. So no deal. Shame it still differs so much store to store

Walmart stores are hit and miss. The sets on sale in Barrie are not the same as the sets on sale in Mississauga , and vice versa.

I think the point of the thread is reporting what one sees on sale at their local store.

I went to 2 local Wal-marts today.

Wal-mart 1 is in an established part of town, pretty busy, shelves were pretty bare today. Looks like they're getting ready for new stuff. No deals, not even the clearance and rollback deals that are advertised on the site.

Wal-mart 2 is in a new neighborhood and is never busy. Shelves were still full but I found several deals:
- 75917 - $50 (normal $59.99) - 5 in stock
- 60076 - $100 (normal $109.99) - several in stock
- 75094 - $100 (normal $119.99) -2 in stock, bought 1 for resale (I think this will retire soon)
- 10702 - $30 (normally $39.99 I think) - several in stock
A couple other City sets as well as virtually all the online deals in stock.

I'm thinking I'll check back all week to see if anything else goes on sale or on deeper discount.

Oops $199 was a typo, should have been $119.99.

It's not a great deal no, but it's interesting to see star wars sets on sale.
