Being a TFOL without an income (so very close...just a short amount of time...) I obviously cannot afford a monorail set without a serious impact on my budget-I'd need to save up for a LONG time and that would mean a very poor LEGO part intake in this year. So instead, I didn't get one.
Background of Monorails: There are three LEGO monorail sets, plus a few accessory sets (to my knowledge). The three sets are-the 6990 Futuron Monorail, the 6991 Unitron Monorail (in my opinion, the best of the three), and the Airport Monorail (I don't have the number since I have no intention of buying a 300 dollar monorail). Then there are a few accessory packs, containing tracks, motors, etc. I could buy the parts to make a monorail for a decent price, but at the moment I need the money for the 2011 themes.
Anyways, I prefer monorails over trains. I have had a design in mind, quite similar to AccurateIN's, and when I saw his, I decided that my idea was viable. Mine was larger, single car (lack of correctly-colored parts for another), and non-motorized.
The images aren't displayed here, as I am pressed for time. You can see them on FlickR http://www.flickr.com/photos/53597237@N ... 283416645/. They were part of a setup for a contest entry on MOCpages (MOC Olympics Side Event-Phip Phip Hooray, and it won third place).

Re: [MOC] Monorail
I like the design, but I feel like there's something missing. Some seats?
