They had these today at the Lego Store with a 59.99 price on them. The box was the same size as the White House.

I am pleased to know what the new item is... But, feel a bit deflated as I thought from the draped example it seemed to resemble the Darwin Martin House... I am a Buffalonian and terrifically proud of our collection of FLW buildings.... So, the Farnsworth house is beautiful and cool, but the Guggenheim and Falling Water really started a theme...

For how well the Architecture theme fits LEGO I feel about half of them could have easily been better. I understand these are in most cases giant buildings and the price would end up being massive but Falling Water is the largest and most expensive(i think?) and that's by far the best looking set so far in my own humble opinion. Plus you get a ton of great tiles and it's usually on sale at other retailers. The White House? Eh.

I really love the John Hancock building in RL but I can't seem to spend money on it when I see it in person at the store. Same with the Sears tower or whatever it's called these days.

I'm only vaguely familiar with this new building but again I feel it could have been better even if the RL version isn't on a lot of peoples top 10 lists. Some of these sets are 20 bucks for 57 pieces. I don't fully understand why LEGO feels they are so valuable. As collectors items? If so you would think they would beef them up because collectors always are willing to pay more than the average customer for the juicy sets. I'm on the fence with this new one like so many of the others. Do any of you collect them all?

Speaking of the Devil.... =) I own the entire series (except the just released one). I've built them all, and done reviews as Ice pointed out, so I'm definately your point man on that line =)

I completely agree with you Peanut. The Architecture line is very weird that the 'cheap' sets, are actually the most expensive ones in terms of price per piece (one of my main factors of buying). The 'expensive' sets, are the ones with really good PPP values. The bigger sets also have better pieces that can be used for MOCs. I was NOT happy having to even pay $10 for some of the sets like you mentioned... 87 pieces for a $20 MSRP set is ridiculous.

Unless you are a collector, I would only recommend Falling Water, the Gugenhiem, and The White House. The white house is kind of cheesy, but it's a building EVERYONE knows, and it is a good representation... it's also probably the 'rarest' of the line. The others I wouldn't even bother with... too expensive, bad parts, no playability... they will sit in the box collecting dust in your collection like they are currently doing in mine :P

Good news, everyone! (Yes, that's my Professor Farnsworth imitation; get it?) Ice, I just headed to Shop.LEGO.com to place my order for the Maersk train, and when I went to the Themes hub page to switch to Trains (to pick up some new rails), I saw a new Theme: Architecture! The only product available is Farnsworth House, but it's marked as new, in stock, and ships EVERYWHERE except South Korea! Needless to say, I didn't think twice about adding it to my cart. REJOICE! (Unless this is LEGO's idea of an April Fool's joke. ) There's little hope we'll ever see the previous sets, but this does give us hope for the future!

That said I've been tempted to get Fallingwater but with a LEGO budget of 0 it's a stretch.

I'm not disappointed with this architecture set, but I definitely think that they could have done more with it. I dare say that someone ambitious will come up with an MOC of the same thing that will be a lot better and more detailed and probably more deserving of the same price.

Most may think the Farnsworth House is an ugly house, but for those in architecture they find it beautiful and amazing. My cousin was married there and it was a great setting. Her husband is an Architect, so it fit. I am pretty sure they do alot of weddings there as it is laided out for such.

So now they can buy the set build it an put 2 lego mini's up like they are getting married. Who gets to do that with their wedding location? Not many.

I love Farnsworth house. I'd get the Lego model if it weren't, in my opinion, overpriced. So, for now I am waiting for it to go on sale.
