Any new sets at Borders?

Post by brixter » Sun Apr 24, 2011 7:00 pm

Since there have been a few rumblings of Borders visits out there, has anyone seen any new additions to what they have for sale (Alien Conquest, PoTC, CMFs4, etc)? The newest thing that I saw there was the Space Shuttle 3367. I've got some expiring Borders bucks that I need to use.

Thanks!

Not sure if this is new - but I got the police station by son wanted with a 40% off coupon.

Which 40% off coupon are you using? Is it one that explicitly says "excludes, toys, games, puzzles and stuffed animals"? If so, did the cashier just accept it with no questions? If not, where did you find the coupon?

It's been a severe blow to my Lego purchases since they started excluding toys on their coupons that come out three times a week.

I've not bothered looking in the LEGO section of my local store since they started excluding toys on the coupons, but did get this in my email:-

(Click to bigify.)

So looks like CMFs4 and some new games.

Note that the $3.59 price is with Rewards Plus membership, meaning BRP is actually $3.99. Sneaky!

I went by Borders last night to actually buy a book, imagine that! ;) I checked out the Lego area and they don't have anything new really. No PoTC, Alien Conquest etc. I didn't really focus on the games so there might have been new games.

No sign of CMFs4 anywhere, but lots and lots of POTC at my Borders:-

All at typical Borders markup, so not worth getting unless you have Borders Bucks to burn and/or find a toys-inclusive coupon.

4182 The Cannibal Escape $ 29.99 $ 34.99

I stopped by Borders today to look around...guess how much they want for the new Cars 2 Flo's V8 Cafe?......$74.99 (msrp $59.99)....geez

But they did have a number of the new Cars sets. Classic Mater or Radiator Springs Lightning McQueen were $8.99 vs msrp of $6.99. I didn't look at the prices of the others after seeing the markup.

I was in the Borders in Dedham, MA the other night and they had both Cars 2 and PotC sets. I counted three 4 foot sections of Lego.
