When will the Lego Store have double VIP points again?

Post by atmail35 » Tue May 31, 2011 8:22 am

I swore last June they had double points but I do not see anything on the June calendar.

I know they just offered it in March and usually in the fall. Does anyone know when the next double points promo might be offered? Is it usually listed in the calendar or not (i.e. is there hope for June)?

Thanks!

I dont know, but i can speculate.

Current promo ends today, so likely a new one will start in next couple of days, and very possibly double points, since there are some new sets, including MBA, being released starting tomorrow.

I almost bought a Fire Brigade yesterday ($150 set). But we ended up not going to the Lego store so it didn't happen. I read on the June calendar that the deal for June is a 3-pack build-a-minifig for orders over $75 (iirc). I didn't see anything on there about double VIP points (which I would prefer over the minifigs).

Are the double VIP deals usually announced on the store catalog? Or are they usually a surprise?

EDIT: Just took a look.

Double VIP points on Ninjago sets (looks like most of them, right? At least the big and medium sets anyway.)

I don't see anything about double VIP points for everything. I suspect that only happens during the holidays or something.

I just logged on to my VIP account. I started keeping an excel spreadsheet with the activity because I was curious about how much I was spending at the Lego Store. They used to have a lot more history, it seems like they just show 3 months now.

Anyway, last year it looks like they had double points June 1 - 15th. I also pulled out our old June 2010 calendar and it was not noted on the calendar. I think these are the double points months for 2010 and 2011. I can't be sure about last March since I didn't seen to make any purchases then.

June 2010 (not on calendar, I believe June 1-15)
October 2010 (on calendar - all month)
March 2011 - this was not on the calendar, and I can't remember what dates.

So it looks like they might try and do it quarterly....with the exception of December, which makes sense since that probably is when most people make Christmas/holiday purchases.

Anyway it's all speculation, I'd love to get double points on everything soon ;)

I just looked an the free shipping offer w/ $75 purchase ends 4:59 EST which is in 20 minutes so ncbarrett's prediction might be right.
