Vintage Lego
Vintage Lego
Hi, I have just joined and I need a little help and advice. I have quite a lot of Vintage lego which I would like to sell, but I really do not have any idea of prices. I am particulary interested in the price of 7745 as someone wants to buy this from me. All the lego I have is in very good condition, but the boxes are not so good. :)

Hello.
Prices are always different from one person to another and it's hard to come up with a reasonable price in some situations. Bricklink.com is a nice site to become familiar with if you'd like to see trends in price. Set number 7745 without a box with instructions starts at $219. Someone has it New in Box for over $1600. On eBay there is one auction for the set with no track or stickers. It has three days left and is currently retailing at $43. Maybe you'd like to keep an eye on that too.

It's just a matter of getting a feel for the price and your willingness to let it go. I wouldn't be able to-so kudos to you.

Re: Vintage Lego
Vintage LEGO pieces really matter on the rarity of the piece. The big ticket items are very old minifigures that are from rare sets. If you can sell whole complete vintage sets, those are also a very great item to sell. Selling just something like a 2x4 brick from an old set wont get you very far at all.
Check Bricklink for comparison prices. It's definitely the largest and best way to sell LEGO.

Take that $1600 price tag with a grain of salt - no one's sold it NIB (new in box) in the past 6 months, and probably not prior to that, either.legogod wrote:Set number 7745 without a box with instructions starts at $219. Someone has it New in Box for over $1600.

For used sets, the box makes little to no difference, I think - it's the condition of the pieces. If you can take some pictures of the set you have in-hand, as opposed to relying on the BL database image, it can help in terms of getting more buck for the bang.

Re: Vintage Lego
It depends on the quality and the condition. Also, could you do us a favor and post some pics.
