[USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%

I picked up three sets at 25% off just in case target doesn't have them later but I'm just not happy with only saving 25%. I guess I've gotten spoiled using the tips on this site. They were also originally $50 each so I feel like I spent more than I should have.

Most of the targets by my job still have the items in stock so I'm hoping to score them at 50% off. I'd feel better with that savings for some reason. I know I was wasting my time but I asked two different store employees at two different targets if they had any knowledge about when clearance may be marked down further. Of course, they knew nothing.

The thought of driving to target every few days to confirm clearance prices sickens me, even though it is just down the street.

Target store is clearing out half of their lego inventory. Most of the items were 30% off, but there were some marked down directly to 50% off too!!! Went to 3 stores...only 1 of them had them on clearance...I think that most stores put them on clearance on Thursday...so I will check the other stores tomorrow.

I called last friday and the fairview park target had the palpatine shuttle and the t-6 jedi shuttle marked down. I know it's out of the way but the elyria target had a couple sets marked down as well. Since I have limited mobility I just call ahead and ask them what they have on sale. This works for me and saves me a lot of running around.

Found 7305-1: Scarab Attack (x2) and 7949-1: Prison Carriage Rescue (x3) both for 50% off. Ultimate Build Lightning McQueen was also 50% off. Tons of sets at 30% off - HP, PQ, others.

I was at a Target in San Jose, CA (Oakridge mall) and found that the only obvious clearance item in stock was the Atlantis strider set (robot with two legs).

I also scanned a PQ Scarab Attack, but it rang up at full price ($5). I also noticed that they had many copies of Atlantis Gateway of the Squid, but they were marked on the shelf as full price. Same goes for the Prison Carriage Rescue (full price). It might just be the area I live in, but I don't notice the dramatic clearance prices that other areas are seeing.

I've visited 3 Targets and each had different items on clearance. Items that were on clearance at one store weren't at another, and items that were on clearance at two stores weren't at the same discount level. So this is somewhat of a 'your mileage may vary' sale, although the common thing is that all Targets seem to be part of the sale, and at least some of the items mentioned are on sale at each of the stores.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the next discount level, sometimes I've seen Target have an item on clearance at one store but not another, only to have the store without the clearance suddenly deeply discount the items. Ultimately it comes down to shelf space, there is only so much and with 2011 sets coming they need to make room on the shelves, so the 2010 discontinued items will disappear sooner or later.

Lucky! All I saw was Scarab Attack for $3.66, and some Harry Potter sets that were half off - but I have no interest in HP. Still waiting for Slave I and the $60 Jedi Transport Ship to go to half off.

I stopped in at a Target here in Columbus, OH not expecting much, but came away with a few 7949 Prison Carriage Rescue and 7947 Prison Tower Rescue at 50% off.

In Southern California at a Target store about 40 miles away from me I just picked up tonight a nice bunch:

It must be my lucky day. Checked one of the Targets that hadn't had much on sale, and a whole bunch of new items were discounted tonight. I picked up Hagrid's Hut at 25% off, not a huge discount, but that set doesn't seem to be making it any lower near me before it gets snatched up.

Only one Target in Louisville had anything @ 50%. They marked down four nice POC sets to half off. Both Ultimate Build Cars 2 were 50% off, as was the sea rescue set. Several Castle and Creator pieces still parked at 30% off. It's funny that I've found the part of town where Legos go to die - in one stretch of road there is an older TRU and Target that always have stuff on sale when the others here don't. As an aside, the clerk who checked me out yesterday looked at me with great relief and actually THANKED me for buying so many sets! She said - verbatim - "We're trying to get rid of a ton of those". The Cupertino, CA Target had Atlantis Gateway of the Squid at ~25% off ($30). That seemed to be all that was marked down.

At last check, several days ago, there was only one Toy Story set -- Pizza Planet Rescue -- in clearance. Westborough is going through a refurb, so that might be the reason they have some much stuff clearanced.
