Each week (on thursday) new sets are added at my Target as well.SH1 wrote:...
What was interesting is that this Target seems to be doing a rolling clearance. Two weeks ago, there were 4-5 sets on clearance. I even asked about the small Atlantis sets, and the clerk printing the clearance tags said 'Nope, not this week'. Today, there were again maybe 5-6 sets on clearance, but they were all 'newly clearanced'---there were lots of them and I can't imagine they would have lasted over the weekend. The small atlantis sets were completely gone, with a clearance tag marking where they used to sit, and the small HP sets that I passed on 2 weeks ago (@ 30% off) were also gone.
So, if your target hasn't done a massive 'half lego inventory on clearance', it may be worth checking back weekly. A good deal might show up the next time.

It's good to see another Bostonian on the board. I used to go to Watertown and didn't realize they marked up their sets above MSRP (this was before we bought much in the way of Lego). Now I know to avoid that particular store!SH1 wrote:Boston, MA. I tend to frequent the Watertown, Somerville, and Everett Targets. The Somerville one is the best for good deals. The other two are sooooo busy, that most LEGO doesn't last more than a day or two at 30% off. [and except for the larger sets, LEGO at the Watertown Target usually runs 10-25% above MSRP. :-P]
I went to a 3rd Target today and drove further than I probably should have. However, I did get the Airport for 30% off, plus my 5% red card discount. That set was MSRP but others were higher by a few bucks, which is strange since this Target is not really in an "affluent" area IMO. Strange.
I also found games at 50% off that I got for parts:
Robo Champ ($5.48) so it was above msrp
Lava Dragon ($8.24) above msrp too.
they also had Race 3000 for 50% off.

Has anyone seen the Kingdoms King's Castle 7946 on clearance at Target?

I reluctantly bought a Tie Defender at Sacramento Arden. At 50% off ($25) it still feels overpriced.

I got 1 also, but at $25 for a ship and 2 Star Wars Mini figures, that is not so bad. Look at the prices of the other sets. Unless you get them on sale or clearance, you really are getting ripped off.
Re: [USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%
I already have one too that I got for like 52% off a while back. Saw the set available at 30% off at one target, then 50% off at another. Stared at it. Thought about it. Stared some more. Decided even at 50% off, $25 is STILL too much for the set imo. 2 non-unique figures, and a really basic ship... had to pass. Also the fact that I've seen them on sale for a long time and still so many makes me think the resale value isn't worth investing.wkunert wrote:I reluctantly bought a Tie Defender at Sacramento Arden. They had a few Outpost Attacks at 30% off that weren't marked.... was tempted, but I think I will wait til 50% off. Had 2 Hogwarts Express for 30% off, and a Fire Truck at 30% off. Had Flo's Cafe for 50% off.
I did snag:
7213 Offroad Fire Rescue $19.98(50%)
ToyStory Pizza Delivery $19.88 (50%)
8678 Ultimate Build Francesco $20.98 (30%) (Target Exclusive and only time I've seen it on sale)
8896 Snake Canyon (30%) (figured the 2 Motorcycles were worth it)
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.
Re: [USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%
I was hoping some stuff at 30% would make it to 50% today, but no luck. :(
Lucant, I need some help. I bought a set at 30% off, I'd love to "return it" and get it for 50% if and when it goes to 50% off. Does the store have to have the item in-stock on the shelf to "register" the next level of markdowns? I think all toys have to be scanned by the associates as they don't do a mass markdown via computer. What do you say at the return desk to make it work? Educate me please! I've always been too chicken to do this but if it works, I'd like to give it a shot. Thanks!

Got the last City Corner in Rancho Cordova for $30 today. Just $5 more and twice the Lego of a Tie Defender. I'll probably end up returning the Tie Defender before the 3 months are up. TD was just oddly overpriced compared to similar sets, including other SW sets.Luciant wrote:I already have one too that I got for like 52% off a while back. Ya, maybe I'm just biased against that set, I guess I'm just not a big fan of the Tie....
Atmail I don't know the Target return policy as well as I know the TRU policies.... Dunno how much Info I can provide. I'm pretty sure that if a store doesn't have an item listed in it's inventory, that it won't make it to the next round of cuts... the clearance seems to be on an individual store basis rather than my geography, so if it's not in inventory, they don't see a need to mark it down again.
Someone had mentioned back around Easter time that Target does not allow items sold on Clearance to be returned..... I was going to bring some Ninjago polys back (that I had paid full price for before clearance) and try to rebuy them on clearance for like $0.50 each, but didn't end up doing that, so not sure. I was curious of the same situation as I wanted to bring the 30% sets back and get them at 50% or better (was the last Francesco and was the ONLY target I had seen this set on sale). Plannin on checking out Target, so I'll ask them if I have time/remember.

Re: [USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%
I was surprised to see POTC London Escape and Whitecap Bay marked 30% off at one store. Another store had the new 4867 Hogwarts set 30% off. I've never seen so much variation in what each Target decides to clearance.
Re: [USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%
This is how it was explained to me by a Target associate - If an item is on clearance, they won't do a price adjustment. They will allow you to return the item. If they still have a copy of the item on the shelf, you could of course walk back there and buy it again at the lower price (essentially getting your price adjustment, but making more work for Target associates who have to restock the item you just returned). If there aren't any other copies of the item on the shelf, you'll probably have to wait until they restock the item you just returned and hope nobody grabs it before you do.Luciant wrote:Someone had mentioned back around Easter time that Target does not allow items sold on Clearance to be returned..... You might luck out and find someone who will let you return an item and then buy it again at the customer service desk, but according to the associate who explained this to me, she could get in trouble for doing that so don't be surprised if you are refused that option.
Re: [USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%
Went out intending to hit up TRU for the BOGO50% sale but thought about popping into Target on the way - glad I did, as I scored a Pharaoh's Quest "Cursed Cobra Statue" for 50% off at one Target (Newburgh, NY - they still had quite a few of them), then decided to check out another one (Poughkeepsie, NY) and got the last Harry Potter "The Burrow" for 30% off (decided to pull the trigger on that one, as I didn't expect it to make it to 50% off. It wasn't even tagged as clearance, though).
I never even made it to TRU, as those deals are better than the 25% off max I would get there, and only after spending more $$$.
They also had Atlantis "Gateway of the Squid" for 50% off and Harry Potter "Quidditch Practice" for 30% off at both locations. I'm going to hold out for 50% off on Quidditch Practice, as they had quite a few of them at the Newburgh location and maybe I'll see the Squid for 75% off (not counting on it, but not really jumping to get that one anyway - it would just be a bonus.)

Re: [USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%
I was in the Framingham, MA Target today. They had maybe three sets on clearance. One tiny Atlantis set, the Quidditch HP set, and the airplane City set. I believe all were 30% off.
Re: [USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%
I can confirm that Target DOES allow you to return Clearance items. I didn't about any price adjustment, but It sounds like what meyer was saying is 100% accurate.
I went to the 3rd Target we have in town (just WAY out of the way), and found Ultimate Build Francesco for 50% off (I returned my 30% off one I purchased the other day). Was also able to snag Atlantis HQ for 50% off, HP Quiddatch for 50% off (was 30% off at other Targets and they had a bunch, might snag another set or two after it hits 50%.... lots of minifigs and nice parts for $10). I also snagged a Cursed Cobra for 50% off. Someone tried to hide a T-6 Jedi Shuttle, but found it and scanned... 50% off.. score!
Went to other target, found they had Outpost attack at 30% off... decided to scoop it up =) They also had the 9.99 and 6.99 Kingdoms sets at 25 or 30% so figured I'd wait to get those at a little better discount as I already have 2 or 3 Prison Carriage Rescues. I saw a London Escape at 30% off, and now having remorse I didn't snag it... woulda been $7 better than the price I paid previous. I see the little Atlantis speeder for 25-30% off everywhere. They had the Creator robot for 30% off... was thinking of picking another set up for 50% off or more.... only reason because it has a Light brick. They also had the Atlantis "mech" or whatever... its nice, but Atlantis is a theme where I'll be happy with just 1 of each (with most).

Re: [USA] Target half lego inventory on clearance 15% - 50%
Man, with all these sales at Target and TRU in the US, it makes me feel like I'm wasting my money by shopping for Lego here in Canada! We literally havent had any kind of sale (at TRU anyway) for about a month now, and the sales in the US have been going on for at least that long. We Canadians can't catch a break!

Since Target purchased Zellers, do you think Canadian stores will have the same sales as the US?
