Lego clearance theories
Lego clearance theories
I'm sure I'm like most people and have noticed a lot of relatively new sets getting clearanced out. I thought most sets that were popular get a year of shelf life or so. Any thoughts on why this is happening now? Is it because Star Wars forces all competitors off the shelves for their new line? (Not that I mind, Star Wars is the reason I started collecting!) Not sure if there is a thread already started on this or if this is in the right category, sorry in advance if I didn't put this thought where it belongs.
Re: Lego clearance theories
I assume it's because we get two new waves each year. Roughly in August and January so considering the limited shelf space most brick and motor stores have it makes sense to make room for the newer items. The logic of what sets stay and what gets cleared out I'd imagine is based on the overall sales of each set and trying to create a healthy balance of each current theme.
So basically they use stochastic calculus and psychic magic.
