[MOC] Canopus One and Launch Center

Post by ncbarrett » Wed Aug 03, 2011 5:29 am

I wanted to challenge myself and do a micro-build.
I only used pieces from MBA kit 1 & 2.

Built the spaceship first (which had many versions along the way to the final one), then the launch center around launch pad I created for the ship.

The ship Canopus One has rotatable engines, to allow it to take off vertically, then rotate to propel forward through atmosphere and space.
It is mainly used for cargo, but can easily be converted to carry a crew for extended trips.

The launch center is initially to be built on earth, but in future could be built on Moon, Mars or a large asteroid, with slight modifications.

I was quite happy how it turned out, especially since I didn't have a plan when I started.
I am now considering building out from this on a moon/planet and add more buildings and landscape.

Let me know what you think.

Good job, I like the idea of using pieces only from one set. It makes it easier for those who would like a similar set.
