Lego Trains (7938) and (3677)

Hello,

I'm thinking of buying a PF train sets either
7938 City Passenger Train - currently discounted at TRU US for $126
3677 Red Cargo Train - $144 at TRU US website

Actually I only need the Power Functions and the Tracks, but I guess they are more expensive to get individually. So I'm looking for an Ameri-friend who can buy me one of these train sets, and ship it to Canada.
I understand that shipping from TRU is free for around this amount. I'm just not sure how much to ship this in a big box using USPS first-class airmail/surface mail, if that is even possible. Or if one wants to make a profit by selling the train parts on eBay, but I get to keep the PFs and tracks. I think the 3677 parts sell even more as individual parts.
