There are many tnb members that are also members of other forums so because you or others do not see it posted on other sites does not mean these members were not already buying. They were likely keeping it quiet knowing what happened last time.legohunter wrote:NOT me... man, I have to check bn.com in the morning as a ritual because everything is getting sold out before noon but people have to work and earn money for lego! I rather have the sale start at 12am because I am still up! I never seen bn ever sold out items in less than a day until podraces, mvr, and falcon.

I check it about every 3 hours these days and still not the first to know that the MF is out.ricefields wrote: There are many tnb members that are also members of other forums so because you or others do not see it posted on other sites does not mean these members were not already buying. BN is under close scrutiny these days...and I am not sure, but I doubt LEGO would be too pleased with that

I was able to grab one Falcon this morning. Thanks to everyone for this great site. Eagerly waiting for another set I want to come in stock.
Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
I'm sure BN is like "oh no... Please.... Don't buy all of our units. Oh no. What will we do. Oh the humanity. Would you like a brickmaster book with that?"
Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
Exactly. You see TRU constantly doing BOGO sales, so you have got to imagine that MOST stores could take a 30-50% loss/discount and still break even / make profit.
And are you REALLY shocked that the Podracers and MF sold out so quick? They are VERY popular sets, that have been sold out at Target at FULL MSRP..... just wait for the intial "OMG NEW MF IS OUT, MUST GET IT NOW! NOMNOM" and it will be back in stock. We have what.. 3 or 4 links for B&N Membership club codes... I don't think you're gonna miss out on 30% unless they change stipulations on Lego again... which will just hurt them because they won't sell near as many.

I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

like I said before, yes it is shocking because it never happened before in bn history (that I am aware of since 2004). I think bn would be financially okay with limiting the 30% discount. I already have the mf from the tru bogo plus I also have access to lego distribution warehouses that can provide 30% off msrp all year round so there is no panic in my mind...yet.Luciant wrote:Exactly. B&N has also never really carried any 'major' sets like these in its past either. The only thing that even comes to mind is the QAR which they technically never actually got (I think... tons of orders but none actually got sent and finally removed.) They had a few $100 sets here and there, but nothing in the popularity of Green Grocer.... didn't have the previous MF, etc. Slowly B&N is becoming a serious player in the Lego Retail market if they don't put Lego back in the no-discount category. Guessing they don't have issues with 30% as well, but the 'roulette discount' I think we'll see No-Lego on if/when it comes around again... 50% kinda hurts, but we shall see. I was just saying not to sweat it if you don't get a MF right away as it will not be permanently sold out for the next 2 years.ricefields wrote: like I said before, yes it is shocking because it never happened before in bn history (that I am aware of since 2004). maybe he enjoys getting 25% off higher than msrp prices. Or perhaps he owns some tru stock. Besides, not all consumers are rational as we have established that long ago.Luciant wrote:If you can get 30% off MSRP all year round, why would you bother with BOGO at TRU?

Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
I was happily :D surprised :o as I also got my Republic Frigate yesterday and was very happy with it and the condition it came in.
To everyone who responded to my question Thank you... :D
And unclephn I agree with your last line:
"Overall, this has been an excellent experience ordering from B&N, and it very likely won't be the last!"

unclephn wrote:I finally had a chance to unpack my Republic Frigate today, and I'm happy to report that it arrived in perfect condition, as if it came straight off the shelves. It was actually packed in the same 'official Lego' box that retailers receive. In the Frigate's case, they come in a case that holds two sets, with it being the perfect height and width. The empty space left (from taking out one set from the box) was filled with large air bags, which prevented my set from any shifting around during shipment. The shipment box itself arrived in really good condition as well, with only the corners a little dinged up, but that's to be expected during delivery.1brickshyofcrazy wrote:Here's another question for ppl who have order Lego from BN.com before, how is the packing and product when they arrive? Are you over all happy with it or have you experienced any problems or nightmares, like crushed boxes or missing parts etc... with your shipment from BN.com?

Re: [WORLD] BN.com 30% off USA MSRP on Non-Licensed LEGO
I am in canada so 30% off cdn retail is different than 25-30% off us retail !! Also distribution warehouses have been coming under fire for letting small time vendors have access to the lego stock at the same time as toysrus. toysrus insist that the warehouse supply them first so small time vendors (who are my contacts) have to wait. In some rare cases, that stock runs out and you have to wait a couple months.Luciant wrote:B&N has also never really carried any 'major' sets like these in its past either. If you can get 30% off MSRP all year round, why would you bother with BOGO at TRU?
BN came out of the dark long time ago (probably around 2007) with respect to carrying the full line - when did you start shopping at bn.com? True back in 2004 when the 2nd MF came out, bn was not a major player. Since then, they carried most of the small/medium/large sets from various themes that were non exclusive and we all know they don't carry the large modular buildings like green grocer but green grocer was not hot until rumours of pending discontinuation and toysrus had the best deal on those with the BOGO. In the past on bn.com I bought gunship, battle of endor, at te, creator townhouse, batman sets, both versions of mindstorm nxt, etc. all on decent discount with no one selling out in half a day. For sure the buying market for bn has increased (probably more than doubled) with more exposure from these recent coupon codes and increased number of forums/blogs dedicated to lego.

I am definitely rationale, see previous response. MF came out to be 20% off only after the marked up toysrus price combined with paying $5 to pick up at border; however, compared to cdn retail, 20% off still translates to 35% off approximately. The bn discount of straight 30% would be better but bn did not have MF available at the same time as the tru bogo.natelite wrote:maybe he enjoys getting 25% off higher than msrp prices. Warehouse sources sometimes they offer by 10 get 1 free or 40-50% off for damaged/open boxes.
