CMF $3.99, the Guggenheim was $120 pre discount! Slim selection overall, mostly Cars and Architecture. This is one of the super stores that are getting other stores' inventories. Overall a disappointing trip for Lego...still some good books & DVD though.
I think you meant to say the fallingwater not guggenhiem was $120 pre discount. Guggenheim is a $40 set which they I believe raised the price by $5.

Fallingwater sounds a lot more likely, although I thought that set was $129.99 BRP.

Anyhoo, as far as I can tell, prices don't appear to have been marked up any higher than they were pre-liquidation, with the 30% discount dropping all sets to below MSRP.

In some cases, not by a whole lot (Fallingwater is 8% off MSRP, and HP Forbidden Forest is 12%), but there are some reasonable deals to be had (CMFs are now $2.79, Hogwarts Castle is 20% off MSRP, and SW Battlepacks -- if you can find them -- are closer to 25%).

Stopped by the Borders at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, CA; saw quite a few Architecture sets that I didn't check prices on, and a pile of PotC Whitecap Bay 4194 that were marked down 30% ... from their ~19% markup. So not quite 17% down from MSRP at $66.50 + tax.

This may push some stuff into "buy" territory: the liquidators at Borders added a volume discount valid today through Wednesday. Buy 6 items get 10% off your discounted total (so an extra 7% off on Lego items), buy 8 items or more get 15% off (or an extra 10.5%). If your Borders stocks CMF it's pretty easy to make your minimum that way.

The one I hit had a few PQ Rise Of The Sphinx (7326) for $37.50 after all discounts, some Brickmaster sets for $17.84, and (huh?) some Power Miners sets. Also a banged-up 7632 Crawler Crane and a couple of Atlantis sets that I didn't check the price on, some small crushed-box Architecture, and a bunch of Creationary, Minotaurus and Ramses Pyramid.

As always YMMV but at least now there's a chance you might save a little on something you were going to buy anyway.

The sale is listed 15th - 17th, so I bet something "new" will be happening tomorrow...

keep your eyes peeled!

Thursday is usually when they release the next round of discounts. They will probably go to a 35% markdown.

They went to 40%, so most remaining sets should now be 20-30% off MSRP.

Stopped by the one in Olathe, KS.....still had a decent number of sets left at 40% off. They had a couple of Woody's roundup at $49.99 and then a couple of the same set marked $62.99. I ended up not buying anything.

No Star Wars at all, and only a single city set. Several Pirates sets, a couple of toy story sets, and oddly enough a number of different power miners sets.

Just came back from Glen Mills, PA. Here is what I saw, with original prices (sorry, I did not write anything down, so this is from memory):

1x Toy Story Compactor $65?
5x Whitecap Bay $95
2x 5764 Rescue Robot $20
1x 2504 Spinjitzu Dojo $64
4x 7326 Rise of the Sphinx $62?
20-30x Ninjago spinner sets $12
10x 7305 Scarab attack $6
2x Creationary $40
5x Minotaurus $30?
1x Race 3000 $26?
Several different Brickmaster books $30
6x 3862 Hogwarts game $40

Duplo:
10x 5678 Policeman $6
1x 5647 Tractor $25
3x 5945 Pooh's picnic $12?
1x 5947 Pooh's house $35?

No Architecture or Star Wars here.

Everything is almost gone at the border at Olathe. I can't believe how much they mark up their toys no wonder they are going to bankrupt. only thing left are games, pirate of the carribean carriage set, and some small duplo... even the brickmaster are expensive. 40% is like only 15% off.. not worth it.....

Traveled from toronto to rochester NY to check out the 40% off at the two borders along the ny state thruway - bought the whitecap bay and london escape - 40% off borders pricing came out to 29% off for the whitecap bay and 24.5% off US msrp. Not bad considering its equivalent to 45% off cdn msrp (incl the tax differential between 7.5% and 13%)

several whitecap and london escape in rochester near eastview mall
1 whitecap bay left in rochester near marketplace mall
1 london escape left in borders opposite walden galleria in buffalo (stopped on the way back to canada)

no small POTC sets were available. Not much left of anything else other than atlantis and pharoah sets, fallingwater, rockefeller, and sears tower, and 1-2 sets each of various non licence themes.

Good thing I bought QAR at 25% off a few weeks ago, even though the savings was not as great.

My Borders has been pretty much cleared out of everything except for LEGO games since they went to 40%, but Plus members can score an extra 15% off (works out to about 49%) on purchases from 8/22-8/24 by flashing their membership card (I already threw mine away, d'oh) or printing out the email you should have received.

I can confirm the Border's in Burlington Vermont has cleared out most legos with the exception of two duplo sets with damaged boxes. The only thing left for grabs is Series 4 minifigures. I picked up a few at 40% off.

Went to Brea, CA one. They had all Legos 40% off. Only picked up POTC: White Bay for $56.
They had about 5 Pharoh's Quest: Cursed Cobra Statue (7325) for $20. Had almost a hundred Minifigs Series 4 for $2.39.

Dedham, MA Borders is cleared out of Lego more or less. A few Pharoah's Quest sets is all that remains. I did get a few S4 CMF for $2.39 and then another 15% off w/ border's plus on top of that so $2.03 each, which is not bad. I'm out of practice feeling for the parts on S4 though since it was so long ago that I bought my original ones! They still have a bunch of CMF left, maybe a box full at the registers.

The store is full of junk - perfume, blankets, random crap. Apparently the liquidator is using the space to sell off other stuff from their warehouse.

Bargain books are 50% off the tag (red tags), kids books and toys (and games) are 40% off, magzines are now 60% off.
