Post by ENeuman600 » Thu Oct 27, 2011 7:36 am

The next the modular buildings in 2012?

Have you hear anything about plan the next modular building? Will Lego plan on that or they might give up on modular buildings?

Or new plan like architecture themes?

please give suggestions of what the next modular house will be....

I would have preferred an old savings & loan building (modelled after the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" with George & Mary Bailey) but If they do a town hall, I hope they include a mayor or a town council outside with a smaller add on kits for getting re-elected speech, leading a parade, or presiding over a holiday event.

I really like it - although, a Town Hall (to me, at least) would be more appropriate in the center of town, with streets / greenspace around it. Can't say I like the idea of butting it right up to the Pet Shop.

Glad to see it's back to the Green Grocer size. The Pet Shop buildings look teeny next to other modulars.

How in the world is that 2766 pieces? I hope they manage to keep it at the $150 price point.

Probably not, some members over on Eurobricks is saying the price of this modular will be $170. :???:

I'm going to buy it, but honestly I don't really like it...looks too much like the fire hall. :(

I was hoping this would be a Corner building. I hope they don't raise the price either, the lego price creep is getting out of hand, especially if its a non licensed set... this one seems less unique and feels like a rehash of the fire brigade

It's pretty decent looking, but one thing I don't like from that picture is how the 2nd story of the Town Hall doesn't line up with the 2nd stories of all the other buildings in the row. Would've rather had this be the first (?) 4 story modular building. Also, the front looks kind of plain and undetailed compared to the previous modulars. The only unique things it seems to really have going for it at this point are the pillars, the clock and its sheer ginormous size (which is actually a detriment IMO).

With three previous generations of modulars still available, I think I'll wait a year or two before I think about getting this (ideally on sale). So many other things to buy at the moment. For now, I have the little ugly dark green Hall that came with Town Plan, and it will do me fine. The sad thing is I own all the modulars to date except that awful blue market one, and they're all sitting in my basement unbuilt because I lack the time and space to put them together.

My gut is that this will be AT LEAST $199. I know many are speculating $179. But with just inflation - 8 minifigs, and all the pieces, I can't help but feel it is a pretty big step up from $149.

I'm with you on this. Kind of a bummer...I'm not sure the size looks good either. A building that size wouldn't be mashed up next to a pet shop. Still, I'll start my savings account.
