Black Friday 2011 Speculation

Anyone have any thoughts about what to expect this year concerning Lego for Black Friday? I'm sure it will still likely be a couple weeks before any news starts to trickle out. However I thought it would be good to gather some ideas and possibilities from you experienced folk.

Last year was my first BF Lego run. Got to target at 4am to wait in line till 5am. Finally got inside and my particular store didn't get any Troll Mountain Fortresses in . Not a good experience but I'm hopeful for better sales & selection this year!!

Please share your thoughts/experiences or possible insights for this Black Friday!

I don't have any guesses about black friday this year. FYI - the targets near me had the troll fortress on the shelves weeks before last BF. I was worried about them selling the entire stock at full price before I could get one on sale BF morning. So it may be wise to check out the store a few days in advance to see if the merchandise has already been stocked.

Last year the BF deal at Target was the Troll Mountain Fortress for about half off. At multiple stores near me they still had that set for weeks afterward for that same discount.

Personally, I'm staying at home this year. I think my girlfriend may have other plans so we shall see.

I work retail, do you think I can ask for Black Friday off?

The last few years it really hasn't been worth it. The sales have been like 30% off which is now easily found through sites like this one.

I think the two larger Prince of Persia sets will be discounted for BF. I still see stacks of those all the time at TRUs. I don't think they sell hardly at all especially now some 1 1/2 years after the movie launched.

There was a thread on slickdeals.net about Target's Black Friday. The only lego that I saw was Portal of Atlantis listed for the sale, however it didn't have any price listed. Sorry, not much help but Portal of Atlantis might be on sale at Target for an unspecified amount

Wal-Mart just released their black Friday ad and the only LEGO I can find is the 1,600 piece XXL LEGO box (5512) and the 201 piece DUPLO XXL box(5511) for $30 each.

I'm really hoping to pick up the Pet Shop and Imperial Flagship this holiday sale season. I'm anticipating some sort of Amazon deal. I'm not expecting mega deals, but I can at least hope for 20-25% off.

Last year Amazon did have off-and-on BOGO 50% off. I remember Fire Brigade being marked down to $139 and then having a BOGO on top of that.

Lame, Target. I already bought a Scorpion Pyramid from your clearance section 2 months ago for 24.98. I was hoping for some much better deals this week.

I speculate that today will be painful. The girlfriend has somehow shamed me into going brick and mortar shopping with her, and not even to any good stores! Old navy, gap, lane Bryant apparently. Ugh the things I do... I just wanted to stay home today and relax. This is the exact opposite of that.
