10 Lego Facts about me

Post by sadowsk1 » Wed Nov 09, 2011 6:16 pm

I'm stealing off of the thread and giving credit to rebelscum.com. I participated in their Star Wars thread being a huge fan and I thought it would be interesting to see the variety we share about ourselves and our love of Lego. They have a thread on there that is 10 Star Wars facts about me and I thought I would give a shot at seeing how that thread can do in this forum.

1. I used to make swords for my minifigures with Q-tips after I lost all my swords.

2. My first shared lego set was with my brother. It was a police van with motorcycle. We lost the window to the motorcycle in approximately five minutes. It was never seen since.

3. My parents kept our lego in a Milwaukee braves bag and let us dump it out and play on special occassions.

4. One of my favorite Lego sets is a city cessna that my dad let me pick out when we went shopping at Target together for my birthday.

5. I once traded a Star Wars CCG Darth Vader for a castle baseplate and figures. I never regretted it.

6. I enjoy the hunt for a good deal for Lego as much as I enjoy building them.

7. I buy up Lego Star Wars sets for my nephew to play with because you never know when you will be able to buy them again.

8. I prefer the classic smiley face of all Lego facial features.

9. I don't care for the Lego shaped sweet tart candy. That stuff is as hard as rocks.

10. I would never want a job working with Lego, I think it would ruin my love for them.

Hope everyone has a quick read over this and feels encouraged to share their Lego Facts!

1) I bought 4096 Micro-Wheel for my Nephew in 2003, then bought one for myself. It was my first lego set and I was 34 years old.

2) I talked to the manager of a TRU into holding over a buy 2 get one free sale until their truck with the 4679 with bonus box arrived. I bought out the truck. This was my largest lego purchase outside of a convention and I conside it the backbone of my entire collection.

3) I fused my passion for Midcentury Googie architecture with Lego. Found that Googie is a * to do in lego.

4) I fused my like for model railroading and lego together to justify spending what I do on lego

5) I just mix grey and bley together and call it "weathering"

6) I sometimes feel silly for the number of unopened sets I have when jumping, yet again, on a "good sale"

7) I have never found a good deal on Lego at a yardsale or auction, even though I was known amongst my friends for my ability to furnish my house at yard sales and autions

8) My favorite question to ask an AFOL is "What piece would you ask lego to make?"

9) I am a fan of Jonathan Lopes's creations. So much so, my S.O. teases me about it. I am jealous of his skill.

10) I really have grown tired of sorting
