Offical LEGO Friends Commercial

Post by Legobrandon » Tue Dec 27, 2011 12:10 pm

LegoClubTV on YouTube just posted the new LEGO Friends commercial. To be honest, I think these sets look pretty good, and I would definitely purchase them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEbJQmiZlEk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Good to see that The Lego Group thinks that girls are only supposed to make cup cakes, do their hair and like ponies. :X

Olivia has an inventor workshop and a treehouse, both not standard "girlie" things. ;-)
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have two sons and I think they look like nice sets. I've had it up to here (gesturing as high as I can reach) with people giving LEGO grief for the Friends line. Boycotts, online petitions, calls for LEGO to pull the whole series...sheesh...madness. Save that nonsense for some company that doesn't offer such a wide array of toys that includes women and girls in all capacities. If you don't like what they offer, don't buy it. If you'd like to see a Friends set with something different, send them some suggestions.

I just think it looks silly and the commercial entirely negates the 'construction' aspect as well. It's more like 'Pastel Doll Houses, More Than 'Some' Assembly Required'. Ontop of that, the entire commercial feels fairly 'generic' in it's goal to plug a 'girls toy'.
