Christmas presents

Post by pokerfool » Wed Dec 21, 2011 8:43 am

The wife and I were wrapping Christmas presets last night, and after wrapping a Midi-scale Star Destroyer, a Sith Infiltrator, and Luke's Landspeeder (and then having a battle pack for the stocking) for my 6 year old son, the wife says to me "I think you went a little overboard on the Legos this year".

Oops. :-D

HA, yeah, I did the same thing last year with TRU's B2G1F sale - there was a LOT of LEGO under the tree for both my daughter and I. This year she's most interested in American Girl stuff, but I managed to get the two large Kingdoms sets (the Prison Tower Rescue and King's Castle) at a pretty decent discount.

I havent' started yet. I was debating if I wanted to put all 16 series 3 minifigs in the stockings or hang them on the tree for the kids to find. Kind of like a treasure hunt.

Go for the treasure hunt - I use to love those on Christmas.

We've got my 9 year old son the Frigate and the Falcon for Christmas. He's been looking forward to those two for months. Just this past week, we saw both of them built in a display at TRU. He was REAL excited then, as he's only ever seen it online or on the box.

My son was pretty happy with his Lego score this Christmas. In addition to the above, he also got 2 battle packs, Cad bane's speeder, and a creator set. He still hasn't finished building all of them!

I do have to say, the 8099 midi Star Destroyer is a beautiful set. I was super impressed after he built it.

My daughter is happy with Hero Witch Doctor and Ninjago Mountain Shrine.

No Lego for me under the tree. I think wife banned the kids from getting me Lego.

That is just wrong  . I unfortunately know how you feel. My wife said " I don't know what to get you, you are so hard to buy for". Really..... Let's see, I like the Pittsburgh Steelers, Nebraska Huskers, and Legos. I think I can think of lots of things to buy, but she thinks I have enough of those things. Doesn't she know you can never have enough? :-D

Guess not. My wife bought into the " its strictly for investment...." Although most of my city sets will end up being opened when my son is old enough to play with them. For now he is happy with his Duplo

My husband and I decided to get each LEGO for Christmas. And thanks to this site, we umm.... went a little wild. 62 LEGO sets under the tree. :what?:

p.s. The last 15 were your fault, pokerfool!! LOL  I kid - your sales posts were awesome!
