This gets REAL interesting if Zellers has the new 2012 sets in-stock...I did visit my local Zellers about 2/3 weeks ago and they did not have them. Wonder if they have them now...

As Zellers stores are closing down mid-year I would be surprised if they had the new sets... maybe they do but I would not get my hopes up...

I believe TRU is like WalMart and only price matches exact prices (not blanket BOGO 50%). Also, TRU will actually call Zellers and ask them if that specific item is in stock - their price match policy is probably the worst around...

I was going to hunt around to see if I could get the heavy lift helicopter and another similarly priced city set to maximize the savings, but then I just decided to use the b&N coupon code and get it from there.

Selection is likely pretty weak everywhere, I know my zellers hasn't received any new stock since Christmas by the looks of things.

Probably a few old $24.95 sets (satellite, fishing boat, police van) and smaller stuff scattered around. Bigger sets are random and the price difference won't make much of a deal. Found myself a 2009 sports car for $10 and paired it with a moon buggy, the buggy wasn't something I wanted but couldn't find anything else to be a filler. Took me half an hour to decide on the filler, basically the selection was very bad with limited old stock. Don't bother with the 2012 stuff.

If you're looking for 2012 sets and can find the set on barnes and noble's website and haven't used all the available coupon codes, I highly recommend getting it from there.

Keep in mind that it only applies to 2012 sets and the coupon will only work if it doesn't say "This item does not qualify for coupons or promotional discounts unless expressly stated. " in the overview and if it isn't a preorder.

I think I worked out that for the heavy-lift chopper, it would need a sale around 40% off Canadian prices to be equivalent to what I paid at bn.com (even after including shipping and taxing at bn)
