the quality of bricks and pieces do not stack up to lego - you can tell the difference. I was tempted to buy 1 or 2 for my son, but one of my converted followers of lego bought several kreo and after building the sets he was not happy with the quality of the plastic and how they snap/align with each other. they need to improve if they are to last in the marketplaceturtle1173 wrote:Has anyone here purchased any of the Kre-o sets yet. My son and I have been looking at them at TRU. He loves the little 80's looking mini figs. I was curious how well the actual pieces "stacked up" against Lego. They certainly are just as expensive as Lego is.

its an interesting trend with MB and legoNepenthe7 wrote:Megabloks , I would say is a LEGO rival. Sometimes, they have licensed characters not available in LEGO. They had Cars (in the duplo size), HALO, Dora, Diego, etc.
MB held the cars licence before going to lego, while spderman started with lego for first two movies (2002-2004) then MB held the marvel licence to put out spderman sets post 2004. With the reboot of spiderman coming, I wonder if any of these companies would carry spiderman again - the spiderman figure will come out as part of the superheroes series though. I don't think it did well from either release, except for select lego sets in the aftermarket.

Here's a quick comparison of minifigures from Lego and K'nex

PS. I got this from this website: Lameazoid
I plan to get mario and luigi too.. but maybe soon.. not on top of my list as of now.

are the new power rangers sets, specifically the minifigs interchangable with lego minifigs? wouldn't mind making some PR for legos
Re: Are there any toy rivals of Lego?
Actually picked up a bucket of Samsonite at the thrift store the other week. Seems pretty comparable.
