Friday is the "official" day the new SW sets hit the shelf so I'm hoping the smaller stores will put the remaining older sets on Clearance end of this week...

I think Octick's theory is correct.

I still don't have a theory why some things go from full price to 50% or better in one week while others stay at 30% for months. Heck my local Wally still has tons of SW Advents for 50%. Can we please get a 70%+ higher discount, so I can buy one.

Well, just to contribute a little more: Just got off the phone with a local Walmart's Toy buyer and he explained something to me which may account for the fluctuation across the country. The only thing that doesn't add up is it didn't really provide the answer I was looking for in this particular case and left me with further questions. The guy said that first of all the 50% off is coming straight from the HQ in Arkansas. According to what he said it seems like some stores get "markdown money" to contribute towards meeting sales quotas for a particular area. The only thing is he applied this reasoning to explain why the Power Miner's Titanium Rig I was inquiring about is staying at 30%. This store has had plenty of 50% so it doesn't add up. Wouldn't that mean there is "markdown money" at play here. This might be the key to the puzzle folks. High volume stores probably never have a need for this assistance to meet sales goals because everything moves. He also told me there were no plans for 70% at this point for the 50% stuff. I think everyone kind of figured that much.

Just visited one of the Deptford, NJ Walmarts (they have two!) and was able to grab the following deals:

# 7931 T-6 Jedi Shuttle - 50% off at $30. Bought 2, there were still about 3 left.
# 7065 Alien Conquest Mothership - Bough 4 at $15 each. They are on an endcap with a $30 sign up top, but they ring up at $15, which is 75% off retail
# 3368 Transportation Space Center - 50% off at $35. Bought 1, still one left.
# 7288 Mobile Police Unit - three of them at %50 off for $21.50 each. Still had another three there.

The Star Wars T-6 was in the clearance isle, however, the rest were with the regular toys, and only the space center was clearly on clearance. The rest of the items were on an endcap display with labels showing full price, however, when I ran them through the scanner, it showed them at 50%-75% off.

Yep, probably about another 5 or 6 of them at least. I bought two on Monday when they had no price tag on them, so when I went today and saw the $30 sign, I thought they caught their error, but they still scan at $15 each as of 3 PM today.

Also, it's the one by the Sam's Club, not the one over towards Woodbury.

This is really YMMV in every way. I did get some stuff, but not at the deep DEEP discounts people seem to be having at other places. I went to one and EVERY set was full price except for one random police helicopter at 75%. I need another one of those like I need a hole in the head.

Most were 25% to 50%, but not much selection of sale stuff.

Can I just say kudos to all that find and score discounts? I've been dutifully checking the 5 walmarts north of San Diego for the past month hoping to post a scoop others could score on too. Alas, I just watch, disappointedly impressed with the success of others!

I visited the WM in Hillsboro, TX yesterday and scored the Fire Station at $40, they have 1 remaining there. They also had a crushed box SW Turbo Tank for $60 but left it as already have that one. A couple weeks back they had Hogwarts Castle for $99 but now they are all gone probably dropped to 50% off as well oh well. THey did have the Alien Mothership 50% off as well, couple of those left.

Happy Hunting!

With a place like San Diego, I think you needed to head out the hour people reported clearance.

Just as intromission stated about the "markdown money", I visited a smaller non super walmart today and they told me the same thing. They just had an inventory and got more of this "markdown money" so they were going through the clearance isle and marking the toys down even more. I found a Slave 1 for $33.90, some SW advents for $15 and the new small minifigure display case that holds 8 for $5  This is brand new but I guess they wanted to get rid of them. There were other misc toys marked way down but those were all I wanted.
Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

My son would love to have that Fire Station next to his Police HQ but local Walmarts don't have it cleranced at all. If you have one extra and willing to trade, please let me know.

Thanks.

I picked up 2 Mobile Police Units and two Police Stations. Looking to trade for Turbo Tank, Pod Racer, or AC sets. Let me know if anyone has anything.

Where in Florida did you find the Frigate?
