This statement is unclear, at no point in this line do you say you are talking about FB, so it sounds like you are referring to the Town Hall set.
Here's an observation I had with the newly released LEGO exclusive 10224 Town Hall today, as of last night/early this morning Amazon went from in stock @ $149.xx to secondary market @$199.xx.
I have inoperable cancer and am unable to work. Any gifts would be appreciated. Thank you!

I plan to buy all 4 Modular sets TH, FB, PS and GE March 12th. I hope LS@H still has some available by then. I am just getting back into legos since I was a kid and never knew about the modular sets. I have just been waiting for free shipping to get them. I would prefer to space it out but with random free shipping I think I will just bite the bullet and get them all at once.

You'd probably be safe waiting for the (in this order) Town Hall, PS and maybe GE. Seems like they have enough free shipping deals you don't have to jump the gun on all of them at once. Definitely get the FB though -- free shipping and double VIP points are quite the deal.

I say just go for it! As long as you can handle the one-time financial hit, this way you know you got a good deal with the double VIP points and the free shipping. And if you are patient enough to resist opening them all right away, you could always space out when you actually build each set. I actually have a stash of great sets that I picked up during good holiday deals but haven't opened yet. A lot of Lego fans would never be able to resist (myself included a couple years ago), but now I appreciate having something to look forward to on a rainy day.

SpaceViking wrote:@Edmond_Dantes: many expect the Fire Brigade to be discontinued this year. Speculation is that it will be replaced by the Town Hall set, as TLG typically only has 2-3 modular buildings available at a time. 1brickshyofcrazy was watching FB stock levels on amazon this morning, and noticed it got cleaned out with the release of Town Hall on LS@H. But, as they note, "thankfully" FB is still available at many other places (including LS@H and Target.com, at the moment).

The bottom line is: if you are thinking of getting FB, don't wait too long. The folks that stalk amazon (aka 'resellers') are already reducing availability, now that TH has been released.
I understand many believe FB will be discontinued (I am one of them - I bought a couple extra during one of the TRU B1G1 50% off sales). I just didn't understand how the Town Hall was available on Amazon for $150 when the retail is $200 and it's only available at Lego.

I understand now what he was trying to say. :-D Thanks.

Its hard to resist but currently I have the new Batcave 6860, Police Station 7498, Garbage Truck 4432, and Tank Truck 3180 waiting to be built. Along with a project build of a prison/prison yard.

The detail of the Modular sets just wows me.

I do have one question that someone might can answer....is there a maximum amount of vip points that can be used on one purchase? 100points, 200 points, 300 points?

You can use however many vip dollars as you want, they wont limit it.

VIP points expire after two years. Be sure to use them at some point.

Is it listed somewhere that they expire? I've been saving my points for two years now and don't want them to vanish.

Thanks for reminding me. I didn't realize they expire so quickly, haven't got an email from them yet either so I guess I have around 7 months. I guess after this 2x VIP I'll spend'em.

I get looks from the employees when they see how many points I've accumulated.

Hate to take this further off-topic, but I've got Hogwarts Castle, Green Grocer, Grand Emporium, Fire Brigade, Brickbeard's Bounty, Battle of Endor, Maersk Train, Emerald Night, Imperial Flagship, MMV, Medieval Village Raid, Whitecap Bay, Podracers, Fire Temple, City of Atlantis, Airport, Police Station, Scorpion Pyramid and Diagon Alley all waiting to be built (and that's just the ones I can see from my desk!). My problem is that the majority of these I intend to keep built, and I have nowhere to display them!

It's strange that the 2x VIP and free shipping only overlap a couple of days. I assume if I order an out of stock item, they will ship it for free when they get it in? I hate buying things at (the overpriced) Canadian MSRP, but the Funhouse Escape is harder to find and likely even harder to find on sale so it seems worth it to me.

I have the same problem. Too many great sets and no where to put them yet. I was just teasing h-7. I wasn't meaning to sound rude. I just bought the Town Hall yesterday and my 4 year old and my husband have asked me about a half dozen times when I'm going to build it. Same answer as the others "soon soon."

I'm totally with you autobrick... And they charge shipping based on when the order was placed, not when the item ships, so don't sweat it about the back-orders.

I'm in the same boat as you in... The number of unopened sets waiting to be built in my closet, bookshelves, and spilling over elsewhere... Too many great sets... not enough storage space or display space... at least the wifey hasn't cut me off from buying more Muhahaha.

I'm gonna order me a Funhouse via S@H as well... not gonna fight the crowds for a hard to find set that will be even harder trying to find a discount for. 2x VIP points makes it worth it to buy avoid the hassle and give a small 'discount'.
I have mixed feelings about new releases: I can't wait to see and get the new sets... but I can't figure out where I'm gonna put them or store them.

Hey all, I started a topic over in General LEGO Discussions about the backlog of sets. I really find it an intersting topic because I too have sets waiting to be built and it seems to be a common "problem". So come on over to: http://www.toysnbricks.com/forums/viewt ... =82&t=5378" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and put your lists there.

I might get the town hall from mar 12-15. Why can't free shipping be offered now already?
