Where/how do you store your instruction bookets?

I'm curious on how people store their instruction booklets/sheets. I currently have them stacked in a pile on a bookshelf. I was thinking of getting those plastic page protectors/pockets and making some binders up to hold the instructions.

I thought of those magazine file things (like this http://www.containerstore.com/shop?prod ... t=magazine" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;), but since the booklets are kind of flimsy, it seems like that might not work well.

I'd love some ideas!

I have mine in file filders and the folders are then piled into drawers in one of those plastic stackable drawer setups. I have them sorted by theme. For the Star Wars ones (the bulk of my collection), I have them sorted by what movie the set appeared in (or Clone Wars or expanded universe).

I have one drawer in my wife's filing cabinet right now, with handing file folders for each theme and folder inserts for subthemes therein, but I'm running out of space (the story of my life in every aspect, not just instruction books).

Currently they are stored in a banker's box. Previously they were in the box for the 7710 push train until it ran out of room.

I do the binder with the clear sleeves. I have a separate binder for each theme so they're easy to find. The only downside is the older instructions that are taller so the stick out the top of the binder. Just have to be careful where I put those so they don't get bent.

I also bought some card holder sleeves for the very small instructions and put one instruction in each card slot. Works pretty well except the top row ones tend to fall out when I turn the pages.

There was recently a thread comment I read about someone selling their massive Lego set and the way their instructions were stored. I thought to myself, it is kind of hard to figure out a good way to store that many Instructions and the weight of it all. I was looking for some fresh ideas, as I currently have them stored in the plastic sleeves with cardboard backing you get in some bigger sets these days, then in the Lego Plastic Containers. They are off-center for weight and heavy to move, so I've been looking for a better method.
