If you have $50 of points and you buy something for $50 you will receive no points.
If you have $20 of points and you buy something for $50 you will receieve 30 x 2 points (assuming the double points offer).

^ Yes, to expand upon this - basically you earn VIP points only on actual dollars spent, not the 'value' of the set you're buying. Correct me if I'm wrong, someone who knows better, but I believe you will earn the full VIP point amount on an item if you're using a gift card (since it's considered another form of currency, basically). This is why you don't earn VIP points on gift card purchases themselves - you could use this loophole to earn double VIP points all the time.

Using VIP rewards actually reduces the price paid for all goods, however, resulting in a new price for each item bought, and a new VIP point amount based on that price. Your final 'invoice' when buying from S@H will show you the 'actual' price paid and VIP points earned per item.

There are actually two separate MBA posters.

For Kits 1 and 2-6, it's this one: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Free-exclusi ... ?s=6021657

For Kit 7-9 it is the "Adventure Designer" themed poster: http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Free-exclusi ... ?s=6027567

My first order consisted of:
Town Hall
Pet Shop
Grand Emporium
Earning 999 vip points.

I already had 149 points but for some reason since the order was so large 499.97 they went through extra security measures :( so I still have not received my points for that. I got impatient and placed another order for the Batman Twoface 6864, Lego truck 3221, 7280 and 7281 road plates. I used 100 points for 5.00 off of this order and received 219 more. Once the first order clears I will have 1267 points to use toward the Fire Brigade.

Oh and if you use all VIP points on a set there is no sales tax added to the order!

Was able to order the 7-9 Kit with VIP points and free shipping and no sale tax! :)

It's always a good idea to EARN points (by spending real money) during double VIP points periods and spend VIP points at some later date

For this promotion the shipping seemed to go faster. I ordered on the 14th and got my stuff on the 16th. Every time in the past I've waited a week or so to get my brick. Anyone else have a fast turnaround?

Both of my orders were 1 day shipping. I ordered on the 14th and it was delivered on the 15th. The 2nd order was shipped on the 15th and delivered today. It might help that I am in Louisiana and its shipping from Mississippi.

The manager at my store was willing to offer free shipping if the set you wanted was not available. That's a pretty sweet deal if you have store near by.

I've always received free shipping from the store if the item I wanted was out of stock...I don't think it is related to the promo.

Yes. I found it yesterday too (in another thread). apparently it triggered 10% off when you ordered certain PF accessories... not bad :D
