Old Brick Identification....

Post by dho7622u » Tue May 15, 2012 10:32 am

Hey all,

so I got my first big load of mixed period bricks from a Savers the other day. Some really fun stuff: a blue c.1984 case, an older style dragon (sadly, only one wing), some pirates, some newer pieces, some older bricks.

It has been a challenge to make out all that is going on among them all. I have been sorting based on the features of my childhood bricks (c. 1978) that I have for comparison, but have found a few things that baffle me. I am starting to see patterns that make it clearer, but does anyone know a definitive (and hopefully free) guide for sorting older styles of 2x's and 1x's (I have 4 unique types of 2x2 at this point) .

any help would be appreciated as I don't want to mix the older styles in with my new stock.

Thanks. I really appreciate it.

Talk to that guy. Apparently he's like the Yoda of AFOLs.

Thanks,

Yeah, Gary knows everything. His DVD's are CHOCK A BLOCK with tons of info....almost a bit too much for me to get the answer, I think.

But thank you. I figured that was my only hope.
