Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
I just did a partial tour of interstate 75 in Ohio and Michigan at Meijer and Walmarts on a return work trip. Very little on significant clearance. Best one of the 8 stores was in Findlay at a Walmart. White Cap Bay was $45. Had some HP marked down 30%. They had plenty of stock. Found several QAR, BPs and big Hogwarts at full retail at the stores. It was a rather disappointing journey. I did notice Meijer end-capping large sets like QAR where they normally put clearance items, but they scanned at full price. I did find some of those Ninjago cases with the 10" x 10" base plate for $7.00

That is insane, and that is what CCs are for.wilykat wrote:One Walmart store I tried that I hadn't been to in a while has crapload of LEGO on sale. Pictures is worth 1000 words:

Pretty much all of HP, older SW, and PotC sets plus a few others in the mix. Looks like they were getting ready to move the entire stock of clearance'd LEGO out to make room for the new LotR sets and other new sets.
Regretfully I didn't have enough money for all of them so I took the 4 SW turbo tanks. I left behind easily over $1,000 worth of LEGO (after mark down that is) If you really want a shot at this, Walmart store off Saginaw in Grand Blanc area which is around 15 minutes drive south of Flint. Reseller galore right there in that picture.
So every single Wally I have went to in IE and OC have reset. All large ships and HP have been clearanced if they had any. Of course, I missed every single deal.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
I saw the Harry Potter stuff at my local Walmart on clearance. Maybe I could work it in with the Monster Fighters stuff: the HP stuff has kind of a spooky vibe with lots of creatures and such.

Did you check the Walmart off the 215in North San Bernardino? I found a bunch of BPs and QARs there. I picked up one of each earlier.

Discount amount? That is definitely a drive from Riverside.Galahad2309 wrote: Did you check the Walmart off the 215in North San Bernardino? I found a bunch of BPs and QARs there. I picked up one of each earlier.

Only checked one this morning and they are all still 30%. Not much left though. 1 or 2 QARs at $79.
Holding out for 50% and hope to get the smaller Hogwarts set, but doubt it as a lot of inventory moved at 30% from earlier in the week.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
I stopped by my local Walmart during my lunch hour. They did have all of the POTC and HP sets in a clearance aisle. Still plenty of stuff available. The big Hogwarts castle was $89 and the small Hogwarts set was 35 with Hagrid's hut at $30. One more drop, and I'll snag these to add to my Vampire Castle.
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
I can see Hagrid's Hut having pieces that would compliment Vampyre Castle, but the other two don't have the same color scheme - it could be hard to integrate them.barbecue17 wrote:The big Hogwarts castle [...] and the small Hogwarts set [...] with Hagrid's hut [...] to add to my Vampire Castle.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Just went to this one last night. Discount was $69 for BP and $79 for Queen Anne's revenge. Do not bother asking any employees where the clearance is though, they are clueless. I was told the ONLY clearance they had was the two small carts up at the front. Of course the LEGO aisle had no Harry Potter or PoTC so I was supsicious. I perused the aisles, and lo and behold, tons of HP and PoTC clearanced on the end caps. One in the back right near the games/bikes had the Harry Potter small castle and Black Pearls, one near the friends a little inside the Aisle had the Knight Bus, Hagrids Hut, QAR, and the smaller PoTC ones (but no Captain's Cabin). All sales were 30%. The only thing I grabbed was two Police Helicopters that were 50% off.octick wrote:Discount amount? So if you want those two PoTC boats for that price they had at least 5 of each as of 10:00pm last night. Just don't bother asking the employees where. You'd have better luck asking a fart where it came from.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Oh and as proof of the level of clueslessness, at least one employee I asked was in the Toy Aisle, said only clearance was upfront, and when I found the clearanced BPs and Hogwarts small in the back by the bikes was right next to me doing some paperwork. When I pointed to the clearance and said "this is what I was looking for" he just gave me a blank stare.
It really is my own fault. I have yet to have a single good experience asking a Walmart employee for assistance as it relates to LEGO. So I cannot blame the employees when I keep taking the same action and expecting different results.

I am also one that somehow expects the horrible WM customer service to some day change. My favorite was just the other day...

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
I have already mentioned that I loathe WM, and one of the primary reasons.why is that they treat their employees like utter garbage. I'm not.making excuses but I instinctively want to defend them. Blame the company for being.too miserly to.provide any training or incentive. Miserable people overworked and underpaid are are not known for their cheery helpfulness.
Anyhow I'm headed to a fresh WM now. Wish me luck.

Now if only I could find a big Hogwarts for 30% off, I would have a complete set of the latest HP stuff.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
My local Walmart finally moved all their clearances legos to the end of the isles. The final CTT I was hesitant to buy was gone. They got some POTC and HP left but BP is not on clearance and I still haven't see QAR in person. I went to a further Walmart and didn't see any clearance mark downs and looked everywhere for the POTC & HP sets but someone was with me and I didn't wanna have them wait on me for too long so I gave up looking for the mysterious Lego clearance section... if there was one. I'm just waiting for that Falcon to go down.
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Me too! I really like the look of that set. Seems like it would be a fun build. As of now I haven't had any luck at all in finding one.SquareSide wrote: I'm just waiting for that Falcon to go down.
Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
About the regular clearance price: 89 for big castle, 30 for the hut, 25 for purple bus, etc. No additional clearance mark down.BB.206 wrote:Did they have an additional 50% off? Thanks.
$79 each and you can buy them but you'd have to buy 1100 or so individual pieces as I parted them out for ny bricklink store. Sorry what I buy usually gets broken in parts to sell.il padrino wrote: How much were the Turbo Tanks? Are you willing to sell one?!
PS no I couldn't use credit card, they were maxed so some other lucky buyer gets the rest of the stuff at the store that I left behind.

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
Potc and HP are 30-35% off at my store. Clearance tags dated 5/30.
Since i'm new to this, how soon might they drop again? Or, how frequently should i pop in to check on them?

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
There doesn't seem to be any fixed point for Walmarts to price drop, so I would recommend weekly checks. Most stores do have a certain day of the week that they do those things though, so if you can determine which day of the week it is for your store or stores, go on or as close to that day of the week as possible. Also, they will do a price adjustment to any item that they have in stock that has priced dropped within seven days of the original purchase, so if the price is acceptable and the stock is low, go for it. If it drops again in within seven days just bring in your receipt and go to the customer service desk and they will refund you the difference. Most stores will not price match other Walmarts and none that i am aware of will price match if the items are not in stock at the other store or theirs.starfailure wrote:Potc and HP are 30-35% off at my store. Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
If anyone wants some of the smaller PotC sets and hasn't been able to find any, PM me and I'll pick them up for you at cost + ship. There are quite a few around me at 30% so I can get them now or wait for the 50% drop. There's also a few HP Bus, H's Hut, and smaller Hogwarts.
And yes, if you can't tell, it bothers me to see them just sitting there.... beckoning me....

Re: [USA] Wal-Mart Clearance
LOL. Ditto here! Makes me want to get another credit card! As much as I like the big ships and hogwarts sets, i'm still not gonna bite at anything over 50%. The walmarts here that still have them only have a few but I'm content to wait.brickarmor wrote:... it bothers me to see them just sitting there.... beckoning me....
