July 2012 Mini Model Build - fire pit?

Sorry for the lousy picture, the yellow background was not helping. I'm not even sure what it is exactly. I'm guessing a fire pit?

Honestly, not one of their best designs. It appears to have very few parts. Last year's lighthouse was much better!

Something to do with the Olympics maybe? It doesn't look like a torch, but it could be a cauldron.

The LEGO Store page on my local mall website said it was an Olympic Torch.

Lego employee said it was an Olympic torch as well at Tyson's Lego Store.

That THING is an Olympic Torch? Gross. The designers could of have done a much, much better job.
