Re: Lego RV in "Build Together" Commercial
Wow. That is... not exactly the same as the one in the commercial.
- 8 studs wide instead of 10
- Windscreen split into two pieces
- Side windows aren't as tall as they should be
- Where the brown stripe goes vertical is only two plates high instead of one brick high
- Missing the sand yellow stripe all-together
- No door on the side opposite the ladder
Re: Lego RV in "Build Together" Commercial
From what I understand these are the directions supplied by the people that actually made the commercial. It has been altered some as some of the pieces are pretty rare/expensive....the single windscreen alone right now is an average 10$ item on bricklink and not readly available to my understanding. I was more amazed I remembered this thread when I saw the instructions more than anything else :) Too bad I haven;t seen any more great commercials like this one recently :(
Re: Lego RV in "Build Together" Commercial
Hrm... I guess that could be the reason, since the whole point of the 'Build Together' site is to engender parents building with their kids. To then make it difficult to find the pieces to build it would sort of undermine that mission.pumbaugh wrote:It has been altered some as some of the pieces are pretty rare/expensive....the single windscreen alone right now is an average 10$ item on bricklink and not readly available to my understanding.
Still, they could give you the fully-qualified instructions and then encourage you to make your own changes for aesthetic or part limitation reasons, as opposed to give you a 'dumbed-down' version from the start.
HA! Yeah. It would seem they've added a few new instructions in addition to the new RV, as well - a few Star Wars inspired ones and some non-SW builds.I was more amazed I remembered this thread when I saw the instructions more than anything else :) Too bad I haven;t seen any more great commercials like this one recently :(

There seem to be now...
And then I see a second page with the link already, doh!

Build Together RV? Anyone built?
Has anyone built the LEGO build together RV?
There are a couple of these (Orange&White, Green&White) LEGO RVs with build instructions. They appear to be 8 studs wide which makes me curious of its appearance next to other LEGO cars/trucks/suvs/Semis.
Thinking about building one of em, or both. Curious of the cost and appearance of the results.

The 'official' one from the commercial is actually 10-wide. I haven't built it, other than digitally.
