Just got email from TRU announcing another [non-sale] sale: 25% off 6 different LEGO sets, July 13-15
- the 3 SW ornament + fig + mini fighter sets (9674,9675,9676) $9 ($1 or 10% off MSRP)
- Monster Fighters The Werewolf (9463) $18.75 ( $1.25 or 6.25% off MSRP)
- City Police Dog Van (4441) $26.25 (
an actual 25% off MSRP?? how did that slip through?)
not much to get excited about.
Update: whoops. forgot this one:
- LEGO Hero Factory Furno (6293) $11.25 ($1.75 or 13.5% off MSRP -- currently clearanced at LS@H for $9.48)
lame

Received via email.
Unfortunately, I forgot the classic TRU problem that a 20% off coupon just gets you back to MSRP on most things :(

Coupon appears to be instore only and I've never seen anything big in-store (otherwise, I'd be considering Tower Bridge).

Good point, its been a while since I've been in store. Has anyone seen the large creator sets in store or are these always online only?

I know the New York Time Squares Store has all the big sets but from what I've heard... they're all marked up over the already marked up Toys R Us prices. In the end, the stuff you buy there is probably gonna be 50% higher than MSRP.

yeah, the times sq store has most everything they sell, so the website can technically have that find/available in store statment, but its useless. And the markup is like 50% or more regular...so 160% of lego retail.

I picked up the new Friends camper set for $27.99 after 20% off with the emailed coupon and the free Ninjago polybag. I'm assuming the msrp is $29.99, is that right?

They wouldn't agree to give me 20% off a set and honor the other freebies (hidden sword or series 7 minifig for $20 purchase or project case for $60). Which, if you look at the coupon, it said it's not valid with any other deal so I should have expected that. So I just used a 20% off coupon on a single series 7 minifig. A little sad, yes, but I got something out of it :)

^^ thanks SpaceViking.
^ I actually checked out twice because I forgot about the 20% off coupon. I was able to get the City Police Van and get the Ninjago poly and then I realized I forgot to use the coupon on omething, I went back in to get the Friends set and got the poly and it needed an override, which the manager did without question, so it must be YMMV. I was thinking this AM that I should have done both together to get the project case (but I didn't really see them in-stock, except for LOTR, and I don't know if that qualified), but I'm glad I didn't bother as that probably was too much stacking!
