How to Save at Target
Came across this article. It is about general merchandise, but it could probably be applied to Lego as well:

Re: How to Save at Target
Interesting article, thnks for posting it. I feel like I have never seen a price tag with a "4" at the end. Even the 90% off items (although maybe those weren't tagged).
I did not know they had a birthday club. I'll have to sign my daughter up for that one.

Re: How to Save at Target
Hmm.. I've never seen a price end with a 4 either, and we generally wander around looking at all clearance, not just toys. Clicking on the link to the other site where the article got that information, it seems suspect. They mention 75%, instead of the much more typical 70%. Or maybe it comes into play at the Target stores that mark up above MSRP(like the one near the Ohio State campus, and I assume in cities like New York)...
Re: How to Save at Target
I also buy a lot of random clearane items at Target, not just toys. I've bought clothing, housewares, electronics, stationery/school supplies, food items. I really have never seen a "4". I'll have to make a point of checking it out in more detail though.
I know Costco prices ends in a .97 when the item is on clearance.

I did not know that about the birthday club. They send a $5 off $50 coupon the month before your child's birthday, it says. I'm going to put in for my 12 kids. Their names are January, February, March, April...

Re: How to Save at Target
I bought a creator 3-in-1 mini animals (4916) for a buck and change and I never saw it in stores before... the sticker said online only item, just like the article said for online only (it was heavily discounted).
Re: How to Save at Target
I remember buying some series 4 figures that were 1.34. It was a weird price for a reason. I still felt the packages for ones I wanted and left some for someone else. :P

Re: How to Save at Target
Very informative article just wish it applied to the Targets in my area. I have two local Targets (Rego Park and Flushing) around my hills and between the jacked up prices (from MSRP) & shoppers who scoop up anything that have a RED tag (with BS savings), I rarely ever see the aforementioned 30-70%.
Lego are jacked up 10-15% (on clearance they are MSRP or a little above MSRP, smh
) and most household items and groceries are wayyyy cheaper in pharmacies and supermarkets.
I used to shop at Target two or three times a week until I started comparing prices from other sources and noticed I wasn't saving much, even with the 5% RED card.

Re: How to Save at Target
Interesting article. I'm not sure about the price ending with a 4. Only time I ever picked up lego at 90% off was when the TS army polybag and other polybags where on clearance. It was 39 cents. By me, the stores start at 30% on clearance and then 50% and 70%. I will try the 3-3-2 method this year for holiday clearance. But usually by day 2 everything is gone especially the polybags.
Re: How to Save at Target
I've bought 90% toys with 4 at the end. Probably not Lego though.
