Will the Cars Theme hold Value ? Should I sell ?

We are reorganizing LEGOS and possibly selling some sets that my son no longer plays with to get some newer stuff.
We have sets that dont get mixed up at all! We sometimes buy sets/pieces to mix in. He has grown out of playing with the Cars LEGOS. It's pretty much the only LEGOS he doesn't enjoy playing with.
A few smaller misc sets we will just mix in his "loose" LEGO's and they make for good add on/in parts. But most the cars sets seem very independent/standalone parts and dont seem to mix in that well.

Any how we have a good amount of them and I was wondering others thoughts on keeping them tucked away or going ahead and selling them off since he doesn't have much interest in them.

They didn't appear to sell that well, at least around my neck of the woods. On clearance in most of the stores I see them in. I would suggest that you check local craigslists or equivalent web sites for your area to see if people are selling them and if so, at how much. That might help you decide whether to sell now, sell later or keep for when other kids come to visit.

In about 15- 30 years you'll have a bunch of AFOLs that where in love with "Cars" as a kid and want to relive the memories. Not sure if it's worth waiting that long. :/

The Cars theme did not do so well. I bought a couple of Bust Outs when they were 50% off on Amazon. I see that they don't sell well on eBay right now. (Maybe this will change in the far future.)

Parting out on Bricklink would be the best option for you since the sets are already open. However, be warned that will take a lot of time.
