Holiday train???

I'm looking for the Holidaytrain (10173) do you have some tips and tricks to find one for a reasonable price? looking for the whole train not only the first part with driver.

You are going to have a hard time finding that set. It's been retired for several years and was very limited set to begin with, and has nearly 1000 pieces.

I was lucky and got the set from S@H after Christmas one year for only $45 (50% off) so in that sense if you find a LEGO friend you might be able to get one for something close to reasonable.

Pretty much what was said above. That was only available during the Christmas season in 2006.

My personal stand point on most sets is that once a set is discontinued it is probably still possible to get it at a somewhat reasonable price for the first couple years...maybe even 3 years after it is discontinued if you are lucky depending on the set. Once it is 4+ years after it has been discontinued good luck. I expect to have to pay through the nose at that point.

That set 6 years old..and was only seasonally available. A quick search makes me think you will be lucky to get it for 400$ MISB.

I might recommend buying a different train set and adding your own Christmas decorations/colors to it might be a better way to go.

Maybe someday LEGO will make another Holiday train. That would be a great idea for 2013 Winter set. A Holiday train station with train. $150? That would be epic.

You could possibly piece one together using Bricklink. I know I have a wishlist with all the pieces necessary for that one day where I have some disposable income.

Even if it meant a push train like the Ghost Train, although real bogies would be nice.
