Darth Vader's Millenium Falcon

Post by boomers » Wed Nov 07, 2012 8:26 pm

If Darth Vader had a Millenium Falcon this would be it. Sorry the pics aren't clear.

I'm currently on the fence about selling it, currently it's just collecting dust since I couldn't find a glass enclosure for it. Not sure how to go about shipping something like this either (would I disassemble and send a copy of the instructions?) and i'm not sure how to evaluate it, I know it cost me over 2k to build...
It is an exact replica of the set 10179 but over 99% black (the only parts not black are those that don't exist in black).

This is amazing. I wonder how much this would fetch on ebay.

Is it wrong that I'm more jealous of the thing it is sitting on?

Very cool. How much time did that take to make, including scrounging the parts? If you don't mind me asking.

Just amazing. You should be very proud of that.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Probably not going to sell it, i'll probably keep it and build another but in the true colors and then build some form of a display case for them. I also had other plans for this, I bought around 75 sets of LEGO army men when they went on liquidation, I wanted to post all the mini figs in front of the ship (kind of like they're guarding it), I may still do this. 75 x 4 = a good size army!!

The project took me just over a year to complete, in total I think I did about 75 Bricklink orders...I was really not very well prepared and didn't plan my orders properly. Another reason it took so long was some parts only exist in 1 set (ex.finding 27 6190's in black), plus I only bought new parts. I was very picky!!

My main reason for doing this, because i'm not even a huge Star Wars fan was that this was/is the coolest set IMO and I wanted to make it cooler.

To the guy that noticed, yes pinball is another one of my hobbies. ;-)

Anyways i'm new to this forum, hope I have interesting stuff to contribute!!
