Well, the nearest (which was super far away) Kmart to me had 'em. It was a hassle, as I had to ask the people to get it from the storage/back room, which means I couldn't get any video. I told them to just get me the Mirkwood set...
And, I hate advertising, but I made a video review of the set. If you can get past my annoying voice, here it is! It's a great set!

TRU as well I believe.
Just received another Lego catalog (the Late Holiday Catalog) which has the hobbit sets. I see the Barrel Escape is labeled "Hard to Find" instead of Exclusive, so now its a question of just TRU or perhaps other retailers as well.

"Hard To Find" usually = "exclusive to LEGO and one other retailer".

I don't think that is the norm though, as most of the "Hard to Find" items listed at Lego.com (i.e. modulars) are available at several retailers.

To be more specific, I guess for the US "Hard To Find" = "Exclusive to LEGO and one other retailer" for mid-line licensed & themed sets; modulars, high-end Creator sets, UCS etc appear to be "exclusive to LEGO for a while, then available elsewhere, but usually only online, rarely found at brick-and-mortar". Viz. the Super Heroes HTF sets (Funhouse = TRU, Doc Ock Ambush = Walmart), CITY (Bank + ATM = Target, Recycling Truck = Walmart), Ninjago (Wrecking Ball = TRU, Spinner Battle = Target), the lone LotR HTF so far (Orc Forge = Target), Monster Fighters (Zombies = Target), and any number of SW sets.

So if Barrel Escape shows up at TRU, I won't be holding my breath for it to show up anywhere else.

Hurray was finally able to order.

This morning I got the Bag End house and Riddles and just a few minutes ago Goblin King was available.

I've already gotten confirmation of the first order shipping.

Im still holding our for the Warg set to appear again.

I had something strange happen with my order. I bought Bag End and Mirkwood with a Visa gift card. Kmart canceled my Mirkwood set but shipped Bag End. It has been four days and they still haven't charged my gift card for the $70 for Bag End. I am an honest person so I called Kmart and asked them if they were still in process of charging my card. The representative began to argue with me saying they already had charged me so I gave up figuring that I had tried my best. Anyone else ever have this problem?

In the past when I used to be able to stack coupons on Kmart.com I ordered from them all the time. They WILL end up charging you. I had a time where almost three weeks went by and the charge never hit....really thought they messed up, but they eventually processed the payment. I do believe it was also a similar situation as yours where an item was cancelled out of the order.

Did anyone else who ordered the sets get charged for shipping? I just realized that I was charged shipping even though the website advertised free shipping. The sets are shipped from separate stores as opposed to their warehouse, so could this be the reason?

Found all the sets at my local Kmart in Boca Raton, Florida. It was not in the LEGO store, but in the back of a toy aisle.

Looks like they removed the listings from the website. Sold through their allotment already?
