mosaic using round tile
mosaic using round tile
I'm considering making some mosaics of my kids on the grey 48x48 baseplates but I was wondering if anyone has tried it with round tiles instead of the square 1x1's. The reason is simple, much cheaper!!
Re: mosaic using round tile
If you use round tiles wouldn't the gray still show through? Have the 1x1 tiles been around long enough and are they abundant enough to be cheaper? I've only seen them in a handful of sets and I don't think they're available in all colors yet. Do you mean the 1x1 plates? They're very cheap now that you've said something. I'm still not sure about the color-bleed from the background. If you do it why don't you post your results?
Have fun.

I didn't know the 48x48 baseplates came in clear. The only place I see them for sale is TRU amd they're grey. Anyaways not sure the grey or clear will play a huge factor in the end result, I could be wrong.

From what I know, only LEGO Certified Professionals and designers have access to the transparent baseplates.

You can find the 48x48 clear baseplates on BrickLink some times.boomers wrote:
