Thanks for the update of TRU including Star Wars online. Picked up a couple of Republic Striker Class Starfighters since those were below MSRP at 39.99 a piece! Go TRU!

Does this include the TRU mastercard?

So where are the exclusion listed for this sale?? I've been looking but can't find them. I wanna know if it says anything about the 'Hard to Find' Lego products (mainly the modulars). So far, the sale doesn't apply to them in my shopping cart. But if it doesn't say anything about them being excluded, I may go ahead and call.

You guys baffle me. Why do we even give Toys R Us our time money and attention? This Jabba set sells regularly at TRU for $149.99...while from Lego it sells for $119.99. So why chase your tails for a TRU lego sale that starts out with a 20% markup?!

BOG50% off...yeah right.
I dislike TRU as much as the next person. The trick is figuring out how to get the best deal and they lately have been having pretty good deals on occasions. Their Collectible Minifigures and exclusive polybags qualify for BOGO. The Hulk Helicarrier is an amazing deal at 40% off MSRP.

Their BOGO was really good for Modulars and some hard to find sets until they got wise and excluded them. I expect they'll eventually exclude minifigures and polybags.

But at some point...time+stress+hassle= money.

I agree with scan dell in that TRU has made it such an endeavor to actually get a deal from them that it hurts. My natural inclination has always been to fight them with a David v Goliath mentality... As a few others have suggested, it feels pretty good to poke holes in their greedy "savings insulation" system. Lately though, I've taken my business to Lego (with black friday and vip), yoyo, and amazon (prime). Easier to do quick price comparison without crazy TRU math and shopping cart swapping in attempts to receive advertised savings!!

You know what? I've saved money, but more importantly, I've gotten some time back to spend with my wife and kids. I'm declaring that a victory! And now, I'm going to withdraw.

These threads are meant to promote sales and share potential deals with other people. If you don't have anything productive to contribute it might be worth reconsidering posting anything.

This is also a community sir, where people can discuss aspects of certain things and not be like brainless robots following a rail. I like hearing people's opinions, specifically regarding experiences, because it allows others to possibly avoid problems themselves. I suggest you simply accept people and their posts for who they are.

As long as people are respectful of one another and follow the forum rules, all should be good, no?

Not in my opinion. No. This aside in itself shouldn't be discussed in this thread because it is not the function of this thread to talk about things other than the sale. Stay on topic and contribute something useful.

The [USA] ToysRUs Extra $25 off $150 when you use Mastercard article directs to this forum.

In it, it says the deal stacks with the BOGO50 and Groupon. Can the Groupon be used on toysrus.com or is it only in store? The Save $25 Mastercard thing is only online.

Just a heads up, the new Gandalf Poly bag is not included in the BOGO 50% off deal. I didn't have time to talk to the manager and fight for the deal because I was on my lunch break. Other might have better luck, just be ready for a potential manager argument.

Mirkwood Elves poly, however, is included in the BOGO50.

Hmm.. I need to go back and double check my receipt because I think the Gandalf worked BOGO for me. I'm 99.9% sure and will check when I get home.

Is the offer also available for Toys "R" Us stores in Australia & other parts of the world, or just the USA?

B1G1 50% off is now working on the huge Star Wars sets (including Death Star and SSD).

Also, free shipping is no longer limited to $20 off.

I gave TRU.com a call regarding whether the modular houses were part of the deal because the details of the sale clearly do not have the modular houses as being part of the exclusions, but the rep (as helpful as she was) said she was sorry for the confusion (canned response), and that there was a list of eligible items after clicking details.

Anyway, since the Star Wars bigger sets seem to work, has anyone in CANADA (particularly Toronto and the GTA) thought about splitting an order of 2 R2-D2 sets? It's being sold at $20 above the US retail price, but through this "deal", if we split it, we both pay $202.61 after all the tax and duty. That turns out to be about 22% off the Canadian retail ($230 x 1.13 = $259.90). Not a great discount, but decent considering how this is an exclusive and rarely, if ever on sale in Canada.

Just pulled the trigger on the DS and SSD. After all the issues earlier this year with their BOGO on Starwars sets, this feels like sweet redemption. Unfortunately I've got no interest in the SSD, so it's going to ebay.

I'm just amazed that nearly 2 hours after I posted the deal, both are still available. People aren't paying attention...
