Okay I'll bite. I Ordered 20.
Re: Chapters Cyber Sale: Series 7 MF b2g2
Mine finally shipped... took a while. They must have millions of them in-stock. Probably over-ordered quite significantly!

Still waiting for mine to be shipped, ordered them on Wednesday morning.
Does anyone know if they've done similar sale's on the previous series? Much cheaper way to pick them up than buying them when they first hit the market.

This is the biggest sale I've seen for these Collector minifigs. It's essentially 50% off, but you need to buy 2.Congruence wrote:Still waiting for mine to be shipped, ordered them on Wednesday morning.

I remember buying a pack of 4 Series 5 figs for $11.20 (regular price of ~$14 - 20% off), before tax. Nothing special, since Chapters has 20% off LEGO a few times per year.

Bought 12 to fill out an order of books to qualify for coupons.dulait wrote:It is not the old series that is, it is the 50% off that attracts so many people. Here is a good joke, sale on mini figures is GOOD, 50% off mini figures is GREAT, expressions from people when they get 5 to 10 of the same figure is PRICELESS.Legobrandon wrote:Didn't know 50% off old series figures would be so popular! :)

Re: Chapters Cyber Sale: Series 7 MF b2g2
They are not as random as we might think, since I remember I got like 6-7 Minotaurs when I ordered 20 from them a while back when they have series 6 on sale.sneaky07 wrote:Finally got around to checking my order of 40.

Re: Chapters Cyber Sale: Series 7 MF b2g2
I had three rocker girls in the 20 I bought. I'd say that's pretty random.
Re: Chapters Cyber Sale: Series 7 MF b2g2
Probability is hard and oftern counter-intuitive. I screwed up with that a lot back in uni. Hopefully I got it right for this particular one:sneaky07 wrote:Finally got around to checking my order of 40.

If there are 16 different minifigs and they each have the same probability of appearing, then taking one specific one, you have a 15/16 chance each time of it NOT showing up. To see how big the chance is of it not showing up after x times, you [15/16]^x. For 40 tries, that works out as 0.076. When you started opening them, your chance of NOT getting a Rocker Girl (or any other *specific* minifig), was 7.6%, so fairly small, but not that small.
I couldnt quickly figure out what the chances are of getting 7 identical minifigs, uni was too long ago :)
Re: Chapters Cyber Sale: Series 7 MF b2g2
You're assuming equal probability which is not actually true. Firstly, in a sealed box you are guaranteed a certain number of full sets and second, you have no idea how they selected and packed minis for these orders.Brick75T wrote:Probability is hard and oftern counter-intuitive. Agree, yet mathematicians are cool, like Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man.cornbread wrote:You're assuming equal probability which is not actually true.
